There were holes in the comforter, the mini fridge did not work properly, and the carpeting needed to be cleaned. We waited over an hour for the hotel shuttle to the airport (which we had pre-scheduled the night before) We were told it would be no longer than a 15 min wait and after an hour finally had to call a cab so we wouldn't miss our flight. I was very dissapointed with the total lack of concern of the morning staff and her obvious rudeness toward us. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Score 4 out of 5 My review of La Quinta Inn & Suites Boston Somerville Jennifer, Dallas, TX, 2006-10-08 Overall, our four night stay at the La Quinta in Somerville was a pleasant one. This was our first major trip with a toddler, and the hotel and staff proved very family friendly. Outside of several unfortunate maintainence issues, our stay was a good one. We ended up arriving at Logan after midnight, but upon phoning the hotel, the shuttle driver picked us up immediately. He even fetched us a port-a-crib for our daughter, and once we discovered it was in fact broken, he brought another that worked just fine. He even got us some milk for our small in-room fridge so we would have some for bottles in the morning! The room itself was very clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the ceiling above our bed began to leak on our next night there. To their credit, the staff offered to send someone up immediately to look into it, but at that point we had a sleeping baby, so my spouse and I just relocated to the other bed in our room. By the time morning rolled around, we were able to update the hotel staff on leaking in the bedroom AND bathroom... at which point we were moved across the hall. Where the smoke alarm batteries were wearing down and the unit was chirping at us every few seconds. As we were on our way out, we didn't bother with it immediately, but when I called it in that evening, they sent someone right up to fix it. That led to one entirely maintainance issue free day... at which point, literally on our way out to catch our return flight... our toilet began to back up. Despite the plumbing, this hotel has lots of advantages. The staff is friendly, the rooms are nicely appointed, cribs can be provided for infants, the continental breakfast is adequate, with fruit and yogurt to feed our little one, it's within walking distance of a market (something I checked on in case I ran short on baby supplies), and within walking distance of the T. There's a family friendly restaurant across the parking lot, and even a movie theater a short walk away! Outside of the repair issues, I was really pleased with this location. The hotel itself was decent - the lobby and room were clean. I didn't have a chance to sample the free breakfast but it was there. However, there were two things that got to me. First, there were only two towels in the bathroom and we tried calling to the front desk repeatedly to get more but they never answered. Second, it was next to impossible to connect to the wireless internet in our room - I managed a brief connection and was promtly kicked off. Score 5 out of 5 Great Location! Susan, Chicago, IL, 2006-07-18 Easy access to the "T" line public transportation and highways.I traveled to Boston with my three children. The hotel front desk staff made our trip! They went out of their way to help us with directions, extra pillows, extra towels, good places to eat. The is a swim spa, not a pool and that was the only disappointing point. The continental breakfast is good. What is best is the location! It is located off of I93 and provides easy access to local attractions. |
