Once I got into the room noticed that there was graffiti on the wall right above the door was the word DIE which was written in marker with 6 letters. To finish things off, in the morning, they have a coffee maker, some cheap coffee, and NO HOT WATER CUPS in the room!! Once I left, I made sure to make my complaints at the front desk. After telling the woman (girl) about my bad experience, she just said: Oh, I'll tell housekeeping. That's it... no apologies for the graffiti on the walls, no sorry for no hot water cups, no nothing... So with them, I will give them a nothing as well. Nothing as in no approval rating from me, nothing as in no repeat visits, and nothing as in the amount of money I will spend at their hotel. Score 4 out of 5 good lobby service Anonymous, 2006-11-14 There were several places to eat which were located close to the hotel. The hotel staff at check in and check out were very efficient and organized. I was able to get some breakfast earlier than the regular breakfast hours as I was checking out. The hotel had a musty odor, which was the down point to my stay. Other than that, it was satisfactory for my needs, which were passing through the area. I was pleased that a Dennys restaraunt was next door to the hotel. Score 5 out of 5 Halloween in Salem Anonymous, Syracuse, NY, 2006-11-01 Trolley tour Witches Museum Wharf House of seven GablesThe Days Inn Danvers was a great place to stay. We were visiting Salem for Halloween. The Days Inn was a short drivig distance from downtown Salem. There were lots of restaurants close by. The room was very clean and comfortable. Coffee was always a short stroll away and there were some nice shops. We had a long car trip with extremely heavy traffic so we got at the hotel late. The man who checked us in was very sympathetic to my complaining about the traffic and he was very helpful when I encountered a small problem. Thanks to him. The room had a place to hang clothes, but it was hard to get at because of the way the fridge and microwave were placed. The hotel was very comfortable and we would stay there again because we were able to walk to a few places. Thanks again to the man, I am sorry I did not get your name, who checked us in and made us feel very welcome. Score 4 out of 5 Not a luxury hotel Anonymous, 2006-10-01 A short drive to Salem, Gloucester, Marblehead and Boston. The Days Inn in Danvers is not a luxury hotel, but if you are looking for just a place to sleep at night then this would be ok. It is very convenient to Salem, Gloucester, Marblehead, Boston...Lots of restaurants in the area (would not recommend the Denny's right in the parking lot). Convenient to the highways. The rooms have been renovated and are clean, but the property is nothing to look at. There is a continental breakfast in the lobby...bagels, english muffins, OJ, coffee, cold and hot cereals. Score 4 out of 5 compatible location for sightseeing & airport access Charlotte, Minneapolis, MN, 2006-09-16 1. LOTS of interesting historical sightseeing options in the area. 2. Large 'Liberty Mall' across the highway with shops, restaurants, theater. 3. Travel time required to enjoy sightseeing exploration of the area was minimal and made a lot possible in a short time. 4. Only 20 minutes to(approximately) to the airport. We selected Days Inn Danvers/Boston/Salem, Danvers, MA because of it's location in proximity to the area we wished to visit and airport accessability, also for its cost. It definitely met the requirements for which we selected it. The location was perfect for us with near access to Salem, Marblehead, Gloucester, and Rockport. It only took us 20 minutes to drive to the airport on Saturday. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I was impressed with how tidy and clean the facilities were. It's actual location on the site was awkward to access. We like to include an exercise walk early morning to start our day. This is not a location conducive for walking. Also, clearly the facility is "old" and has seen a LOT of use over the years. There is no ambience to its grounds, actually a bit 'dumpy' in appearance. We commented that our guess would be it is not far from being replaced and perhaps even relocated. The air-quality in the room was less than fresh. I do want to emphasize that the room was well cleaned and serviced. It was pleasant in its furnishings. Score 4 out of 5 Our Danvers Stat Anonymous, 2006-08-31 The Days Inn was convenient being close to the highway. But when we first walked in the room it looked clean but had a strong smoke odor. The mattress on one of the beds was pushed up against the was partially off the frame and I hit my leg on the frame that was sticking out and hidden under the bedspread. They did have a decent continental breakfast. I read where they had a pool but i didn't see one. There are several restaurants close by to chose from. Score 3 out of 5 OK - nowhere near great Michael, Philadelphia, PA, 2006-08-21 Salem, MA. Cute and fun, the ghost tour at night was a nice extra. If you are interested in inexpensive and don't care what the place looks like - or in my wife's case - smells like, then this may be the place for you. The location is excellent for sightseeing in Salem, MA. It was only a very short drive to Salem, and an easy drive to and from Logan. There wasn't really anything wrong with the hotel, there just wasn't anything really great about it either. I will say that the hotel breakfast wasn't bad; especially since it's included in the price. The location was great; the facilities were ok if you are looking for a place to shower and get a little sleep. I'd stay there if I were hanging out with the guys, but I'd spend a few more $ if the wife and family were involved the next time... |
