Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Fantastic getaway for a fan Rachael Don't bother traveling too far- the pub fare next door was tasty and very resonably priced.I was at irst nrevous about navigating my way to the Onyx, but found it with ease- which for Boston says alot. We were greated curbside by the valet who helped with our bags, and let us know what the cost for parking would be and where the car would be located. We entered the lobby and were warmly greated by two individuals behind the desk. While I compleated the check-in the other attendent engaged my boyfriend in the news of the hours- the David Beckham contract. It felt very familiar and the lobby spoke well of what the rest of the hotel was like- cozy, quite, lushly appointed and contempory. Our room was perfect and the bed was very comfortable. After a nap we headed to the game, the purpose of our trip. We were thrilled to find out we were barely a block from the garden. On the short walk there were two restaurant/bars, a corner store and an ATM. It couldn't have been in a better location. We were also a five minute walk from Quincy Market. Overall our experience with the hotel and staff was great, we even found out that not only do they accept pets, they welcome them, with a bowl of biscuits and a personalized welcome sign, right in the lobby. The Onyx was fabulous and I highly recommend it. Anonymous, 2006-10-30 This hotel is within a block of the Boston Garden for all sorts of sporting and concert events, plus less than a mile to shopping, dining, Fanuiel Hall and other great Boston attractions. The Onyx not only accepts pets, they cater to them. They have no breed or size restrictions, and have a pet welcome mat and doggy dishes right when you walk in. They have have a room service menu of dog food and dog treats, and the bellman will walk your dog for no extra charge! Score 4 out of 5 Review ARLEEN, Honolulu, HI, 2006-10-09 Walk to the central part of activity, needed to cross a freeway. Not for older adultsScore 5 out of 5 Excellent staff Anonymous, Minneapolis, MN, 2006-09-12 Ask the staff for walking directionsI was very pleased with help form the staff including directions to placaes within Boston. Walking distance from Hanover St. and all the Italian restaurants. The room was clean and quiet. Score 5 out of 5 Kimpton Anonymous, 2006-08-10 The Onyx hotel was nice. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were nicely decorated. The staff was very helpful. The only complaint is that the "king deluxe" was very small. Compared to other Kimpton hotels the room was much smaller. Good location-walking distance to Fanuiel Hall. Cocktail hour at the hotel is a nice touch. Score 4 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2006-07-30 No review provided by user Score 4 out of 5 Great Location scott, Sarasota/Bradenton, FL, 2006-07-28 Little Italy is a must !The Onyx is in a great location. All attractions are within walking distance yet far from "heavy tourist" areas. MANY restaurants, all within 4 or 5 blocks. Room was a little smaller then we'er used to but comfortable and clean. The only complaint, the air conditioning was so loud, it was difficult to sleep. The room temp. was always hot or cold. Overall, very nice. We would go back. Score 2 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2006-07-13 Really close to the Boston Garden. The room was nice, it wasn't any better than others and I will stay just down the block on a much cheaper one next time. My good comment was that the staff was nice and polite. |
