The Place D'Armes is the only hotel located at Jackson Square in New Orleans' French Quarter. From this ideal location it is just a short stroll to Cafe Du Monde, Bourbon Street and the French Market. Relax under the Magnolia and Crepe Myrtle trees in one of the lush, private courtyards, soak up the southern sun with a swim in the pool, and relax to the sounds of jazz from Jackson Square. The Place d'Armes is proud to be a Smoke-Free hotel; smoking is allowed in public areas only, not in guest rooms.
Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Great location Anonymous Perfect location in the French Quarter. 2 blocks from Bourbon, 2 blocks from Jackson Square and Decatur Street. Score 5 out of 5 3rd Time a Charm Michael, Columbus, OH This Hotel is so centraly located its scary. This was the 3rd time we stayed at this hotel, and each time is better, even though we had an interior room, without a window. quiet, clean and plesant. were not big breakfast people so the continental breakfast was great, the front desk personnel were friendly and very helpful in setting up the differant events we did. we will definately stay there again. Score 5 out of 5 Excellent ambiance. It is the summation of the French Quarter experience. Mary, Chicago, IL Place D'Arms was a wonderful French Quarter hotel. Have stayed many other places, but this was by far the best historical location yet. Rooms were very quaint. Staff was extremely helpful and continental breakfast was a great way to start your day. I'd highly recommend. Location was centrally located to all of the best sites. Score 4 out of 5 Quiet and yet in the action Anonymous, Chicago, IL, 2007-02-27 So many great eating establishments, including Cafe Du Monde, all within a block.I was there for a long weekend and enjoyed our stay but we were in an interior room. I've never stayed in one before but won't again. It's like being in a basement, very dark (and didn't help that one lamp didn't work), unable to get good tv reception (wanted to at least watch the weather forecast). In addition, the are room was never correctly made up, e.g. no replenishment. However, you are staying right in the French Quarter by Jackson Square so it was right within it all but yet it was very quiet. Score 4 out of 5 Excellent Location Anonymous, New York, NY, 2007-02-23 It's located 2 blocks from Bourbon Street. The location of the Place DArmes is top notch. The rooms are very nice, but many lack windows. They serve delicious croissants for their continental breakfast, 7-11AM, but sadly do not order enough. At 10AM on a Friday morning they had nothing left. When I notified the front desk they did send someone to the store for Krispy Cremes and muffins. Not the same! Score 4 out of 5 QUAINT CLOSE TO FRENCH QTR Anonymous, 2007-02-16 GREAT MASQUERADE MASK SHOP ACROSS THE STREETThe Place D'armes was a quaint centrally located to the French Quarter. The staff was friendly, the room was large roomy and had good heating for the cold nites. The beds were comfortable and I loved the furnishings. I am a nut about bathroom cleanliness and I noticed the following: slats in the bathroom shutter door had months of dust, the ceramic tile on walls and floors were old and needed repair-and could have been cleaner. Just good old fashioned cleaning would make this spot very special. Score 5 out of 5 Perfect Location Kathryn, Syracuse, NY, 2006-12-18 It is a perfect location for nearby shopping, entertainment, nightlife and dining. Highly recommend.I was very satisfied with this hotel. It was built in the early 1800's so it was a little rough around the edges but overall, it was the perfect place for my boyfriend and myself to stay. Considering this was our first time to New Orleans, I couldn't have picked a better location. Two streets over from Bourbon St. and in the heart of the French Quarter, it was very convenient. Score 5 out of 5 Great location, Fabulous Courtyard Anonymous, Chicago, IL, 2006-12-18 right off Jackson SquareThe staff is friendly, the locations is great, they serve a continental breakfast. The rooms are big and unique architecturally and the courtyard is luscious. Score 4 out of 5 Great Location and quiet Jeff, Houston, TX, 2006-12-10 The splendid shops along Royal are only 1/2 block away.Only 11/2 blocks from Bourbon street but very quiet. Score 4 out of 5 Good location, but small rooms Anonymous, 2006-11-14 Cafe Du Monde is just across the block, with it's world-famous beignets. Mmmmmm, beignets ...The location is great if you want to be in the Quarter. The room was cute, but badly setup so that an oversized entertainment cabinet made it very difficult to get around the room. The shower temperature also fluctuated wildly, which was a disappointment. |
