Also known as the "Belle of New Orleans," Le Pavillon Hotel rises majestically from the corner of Poydras and Baronne, four blocks from the legendary French Quarter. Patrons indulge their palates in the aristocratic Crystal Room restaurant, specializing in Cajun and Creole cuisine. In contrast, guests gather in the casual Gallery Lounge to enjoy evening drinks. Visits to Bourbon Street or local casinos are made even sweeter by an old-fashioned Southern homecoming?every night, the staff offers complimentary peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches and hot chocolate in the Grand Lobby. Le Pavillon Hotel is a member of Historic Hotels of America, as well as Preferred Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. Le Pavillon was also named one of the world's best places to stay on Cond? Nast's 2005 Gold List. Hotel is an entirely non-smoking facility.
Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 great romantic getaway David French Quarter is easy walk, as is the warehouse district. The room was perfect. It was the last day of a long trip, and we wanted a romantic last night. From the entry and lobby to the room itself, the hotel is elegant and not ostentatious. PBJ sandwiches and hot chocolate in the lobby after 10 were great. Highly recommended for a great getaway to New Orleans. Score 4 out of 5 Great people, tired property. Anonymous, 2007-03-14 Bourbon street's nightlife and restaurants are several blocks away. Some of the routes are intimidating. The people working at the Le Pavillon are all very nice and helpful. They go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The physical plant is worn and in need of repair. We continually heard moving sounds in the ceiling. It is important that guests of this hotel carefully choose their walking routes as some streets in the immediate area are not well lit. Score 5 out of 5 Nice Hotel Nicole, Newark, NJ, 2007-02-23 There are fantastic restaurants on Bourbon St. You must visit Landry's Seafood on St. Peter's -- the absolute best crab cakes I have ever had.The La Pavillon hotel is very comfortable. If you are looking for hotel that is a little off the beaten path (about a 15 minute walk to the French Quarter), I would highly recommend you stay here. We arrived in New Orleans 6 hours before check-in and it was not a problem. We stayed for eight days during Mardi Gras and had a wonderful time. The staff of the La Pavillon hotel is great. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. During our visit, the hotel had to turn off power to one of the elevators and the higher floors, however the staff made sure to inform each guest well in advance and even suggested things to do outside of the hotel during that time. We loved the peanut butter & jelly sandwiches w/ hot chocolate that are offered every night at 10:00pm. Room service is a tad bit pricey, but most servings are big enough for two. The one complaint I have is that there didn't seem to be enough hot water to go around. Showers were often chilly before 11:00am. We will definitely stay there again. Score 5 out of 5 Within walking distance Caroline, San Francisco, CA, 2007-02-22 Short walk to clubbing, gambling, restaurantsI was alittle nervous about the distance to the French Quarter but found it to be a shorter walk than anticipated even with my bad feet and back.My husband and I are both seniors and we felt safe walking to the french quarter and back even at night but there were alot of people around during MartiGras. Do use common sense as when traveling anywhere and you'll be ok.Loved the hotel and definitely would be back but does need a better menu for their restaurant. LOTS of places close by to eat. Very friendly staff. Score 5 out of 5 Wonderful Joanne, Philadelphia, PA, 2007-02-20 CONVENIENT to everything. EXCELLENT!LePavillon is an excellent place to stay in New Orleans. It is close to everything and you can walk almost everywhere. It was very enjoyable. The restaurant was superb! I would stay at LePavillon on my next visit. We had a fabulous experience. Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous, Orange County, CA, 2007-02-19 The hotel was only 4 blocks from Bourbon street and it was great to have a nice dinner and walk some of it off afterwards. We really enjoyed Muriels and Acne Oyster House.Score 5 out of 5 up class with the average in the same class Steven, Milwaukee, WI, 2007-02-18 everything you need or could do is a short safe walkLe Pavillion was great, the room was very nice , the beds were better than home.the staff was above great hospitality, and they were only 2 blocks from the mardi gras action, I will be back. Score 5 out of 5 old world charm with modern conveniencess john, New York, NY, 2007-02-05 you can walk to the French QuarterThe Hotel is quite lovely--it is an old hotel with true "old world " charm and has all the modern conveniences you could want--including free dsl! Best value for the money in New Orleans Score 5 out of 5 Fantastic and friendly Anonymous, 2006-11-27 We will stay at this hotel again even though it was a 15-20 min. walk to the center of the French Quarter. It was beautiful, friendly, comfortable, and clean. Had two chairs, a desk and chair, and a well lit bathroom. Also, a huge walk-in closet kept suitcases out of the way. Score 5 out of 5 Beautiful Hotel Anonymous, Dallas, TX, 2006-10-15 Try Angelo Brocato's Italian bakery and icecream on N. Carrolton. Homemade gelato, spumoni, and Italian pastries. It was excellent. I think you can also take the streetcar up there. The Le Pavillon entrance and lobby are breathtaking. The doorman in the top hat and bellman were very friendly. The room and bath were very nice, nothing compared to the fancy lobby though. The rooftop and pool are smaller but beautiful, quiet and there's a nice view. The male concierge was excellent. He apologized and sent us room service for a tour operator's problems with scheduling a tour. Their peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and cocoa at 10pm are worth walking back to the hotel. That is was one of my favorite things. The Sunday breakfast buffet was wonderful. Make a reservation though, so you don't have to wait in line. The hotel location was great. Central to everything. The walk to the Bourbon St. and French Quarter isn't bad when you've got comfortable shoes and are sober. We felt very safe out walking, even after midnight. |
