Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 ONE BAD INCEDENT ALFRED, Milwaukee, WI THE Chateau Sonesta Hotel IN GENERAL HAD VERY COMFORTABLE AND LARGE ROOMS. THE HOTEL WAS AT THE PERFECT LOCATION. OUR TRIP WAS PERFECT TIL OUR LAST FULL DAY SOMEONE BROKE INTO OUR ROOM AND WENT THROUGH ALL OUR PERSANALS AND TORE THE CLOSET DOORS OFF THE HINGES. WE HAD NO VALUABLES TO TAKE BUT THEY OPENED AND LEFT EVERYTHING OPEN. WE UNDERSTAND THIS COULD HAPPEN BUT WE RECIEVED NO HELP OR ANSWERS FROM HOTEL SECURITY OR THE MANAGERS WHEN WE WERE THERE. I E MAILD THE HOTEL GENERAL MANAGER AND WANTED TO KNOW THE RESULTS OF WHICH KEYS ENTERED OUR ROOM THAT DAY AND STILL HAVENT RECIEVED AN ANSWER. Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous There are too many excellent resteraunts within a short walk. Try a different one every night. You are right in the middle of the French Quarter and all it's glory.Score 4 out of 5 Great Location to Bourbon and Canal! Scott, Newport News, VA, 2007-02-22 Great Location to the Quarter.Hotel was wonderful. Only disapointment was the $20.00 a night security charge that was added on at check out. Score 5 out of 5 Nice Anonymous, 2007-02-04 Bars on Burbon very closeGreat location! Clean room Score 5 out of 5 great hotel karen, 2006-11-19 just a short walk to where local artists sell their workthe room was quite large, the staff very friendly, there was a balcony overlooking a beautiful courtyard. Although it was in the quarter, it was very quiet....there was a mix up on checking in...I think the cleaning staff was new, still not back together since the Hurricane. But I was compensated well andthe staffwas gracious and accomodating. Whenever I needed a cab, the staff arranged it quickly. The room service was great and the restaurant was nice as well.I would definately stay there again if I needed to be in the area. Score 4 out of 5 Great location for exploring Bourbon Street Anonymous, 2006-11-05 Bourbon Street: lots of live music bars. The hotel is nice, a bit on the expensive side, but really well-positioned for exploring the night-life on Bourbon street. However, it's not really peaceful. The hotel restaurant is very good, nice atmosphere and excellent service. The reception staff is very helpful, the amenities are well-maintained and nice. The room was acceptable, quite clean and big. Cable TV is a plus. The view was less appealing: my window was within 10m of the building across the street, so no sunlight and, for privacy reasons, I had to keep my curtains shut. Anyway, it's a decent hotel, a bit expensive, but with good service, so if one can afford it, is a good choice for a few days trip to New Orleans. Score 5 out of 5 Great location Anonymous, 2006-10-30 The Red Fish Grill located in the hotel was fabulous--we had great service and great food. We would definitely stay there again. The location of the Chateau Sonesta was great--easy walking distance to Bourban Street, the waterfront, French Market etc. We loved the high ceilings and the decor of the room--very comfortable. Score 4 out of 5 OK but lacks staff Anonymous, Calgary, AB, 2006-10-05 Dining, Entertainment and everything that Bourbon St has to offer is one block away.To be fair the Chateaux Sonesta is still suffering from the backlash of Katerna in respect to offering all services. The restaurent was only open a couple days during the week and never at night. Overall the front desk staff was friendly, but not overly helpful in suggesting basic things like where can you find a good cup of gumbo. The room cleaning staff was off and on as they would forget to replentish the coffee and other items when they ran out. No problem to get fixed, but you had to call. The location is quite convienent as only a block off Bourbon. No noise and close enough to walk to most things. Overall pretty good value for a FQ hotel. Score 5 out of 5 Safe and Clean Anonymous, 2006-09-06 The Chateau Sonesta is a very safe and clean place to stay. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! Score 5 out of 5 Best Great French Quarter Hotel and Location Joseph, Los Angeles, CA, 2006-09-05 Almost alll of the French quater shps have reopened since the Huacane Katrina. It is a pleasant walk to anywhere you want to go.I just returned to California from New Orleans on Tuesday September 5, 2006. While in New Orleans I stayed at the Chateau Sonesta Hotel in the French Quarter. I found the hotel staffto be extremely friendly and very responsive to every request I made for service. Even the in room food service was not only prompt but the food was some of the best I have had in a hotel. The location of the Hotel is very handy to every attraction I was interested in seeing except the Autobaun Zoo. I was able to walk to the River Walk, The Autobaun Zoo and of course alll the shops and restaurants in the French Quarter are an easy walk from the hotel. This was my fifth trip to New Orleans but the hotel accomodations were the best I have encountered on any of the trips. |
