Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 Un Happy Camper James, Seattle, WA, 2006-11-26 We were given a room that left a lot to be desired. The room had a musty smell, was quite small and the noise from a tranformer in the hall was constant all night long. In the middle of the night the toilet plugged up and there were other sound through out the night. Score 4 out of 5 Close to all fun things! Anonymous, 2006-10-15 This motel is just a few blocks from all the fun things to do in New Orleans: the Casino, Burbon Street, Jackson Square and so much more.On such a short notice to find a room, the Best Western fit all our needs. Close enough to party on Bourbon Street and close enough to walk to the Saints game at the Dome the next day. Our stay was a nice one. Score 5 out of 5 Convenient to the French Quarter JEFFREY, 2006-05-23 A short walk to the French Quarter and Harrah's Casino.Overall I would give the hotel high marks. Considering the dire situation overall in New Orleans today, the hotel offered a sense of normalcy in a World that was shattered by Katrina. The hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating in obtaining rooms when we checked in and allowing us to stay past the normal checkout time. When we needed additional towels, they were very accomodating too. The hotel is conveniently located to the French Quarter, such that the next time that I visit New Orleans I will try to stay there again. Score 3 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2006-05-21 No review provided by user Score 4 out of 5 heart of Business District Terence, Phoenix, AZ, 2006-05-20 The best part of the hotel stay was the room, it is large for a Best Western. The hotel is next to Lafayette Park, which hosted a concert, food , and drinks on Wednesday evenings. For exercise, an athletic club is housed in the Shell Oil building diagonal to Parc St. Charles. For restaurants, the hotel houses one but the Herbsaint Restaurant is 2-3 blocks away. For entertainment, the casino is 6-7 blocks away. For business, the FedEx Kinko's store is 5 blocks away. For highway access, I was able to take Magazine Street to hit Highway 90 to travel to the WestBank in minutes. One surprise that I always forget about is the nightly parking fee of $ 19. Ouch ! Score 4 out of 5 Great location Anthony, Newark, NJ, 2006-05-14 the French Quarter and Aquarium are a short walk from the hotel. When in this area, this hotel provides easy access to the main attractions and represents good value. Score 1 out of 5 In need of attention annell, 2006-05-12 There is no place to park and check-in because the front desk is so slow that the small designated area is always full. There was only one very small elevator in the adjacent bar that clanged and squeaked making a very precarious trip to and from the room. The room was labeled non-smoking but everything smelled of smoke. The bathroom was not clean and the fixtures were corroding. The small television in comparison to the size of the room made it necessary to sit in a chair close to it rather than across the room. I took into account the effects of the storm on this hotel and the things I observed could not be attributed to anything other than neglect. I am glad that I was staying only one night. Score 1 out of 5 Poor Facilities/Mean Front Desk Clerk Anonymous, San Francisco, CA, 2006-05-08 Walk to Warehouse District where there are various museums and new restaurants. We checked into this hotel and the front desk clerk was very unfriendly. We tried to engage her on several occasions and she told us to "sit & wait until I call your name." Needless to say, I felt like I was in grade school. After 45 minutes of waiting for our room, we were sent to the 10th floor where there was maintenance and painting going on. The whole floor smelled awful and we couldn't bear sleeping in our room because the smell was wafting in. The hotel was completely sold out and there were no other room options. I should note that this hotel was not damaged by Hurricane Katrina and there was no reason for it's poor quality. The hotel had outdated amenities. The front desk clerk was finally friendly with us when we decided to check out of the hotel. Score 5 out of 5 Family trip associated with college jaye, Washington, DC, 2005-08-16 Riverwalk was just a short trolley ride away and inexpensive at 1.25. The French Quarter was only 4 blocks away and one could take a trolley or stroll. The hotel was nice it only had one elevator, bt it moved fast. The room was nice, the staff was very friendly. It was a good value. Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2005-08-14 wear comfortable shoes. |
