Located in the National Historic Lower Central Business District, this building was constructed in 1931 and features the original Art Deco stone and granite facade. The elegant lobby boasts the original marble floors, stately columns, and stained glass skylights. Its excellent location, only one block from Canal Street and the French Quarter, offers convenient access to New Orleans' most famous landmarks, including Jackson Square, French Market, Riverwalk, Casinos, New Orleans Convention Center, Jax Brewery, Riverfront Streetcar Line, Aquarium of the Americas, all Mississippi River attractions, and the Super Dome.

The response was very good for correcting. Score 4 out of 5 good location Anonymous, Indianapolis, IN Walk to River Walk area, Bourbon Street, Harrah's Casino, Aquarium and other downtown placesEasy walking distance to attractions Score 4 out of 5 Could improve Rodel They offer parking in the basement for $15 a night. The staff and service was excellent. Location is great as it was across the street from the French Quarter. The rooms are small, no refrigerator, not much room to get dressed and walk around. There is also no view of the outside. The cost was okay, but I probably would have gotten a better room from another hotel for just an extra $20. Score 1 out of 5 My review of Baronne Plaza Hotel Anonymous, 2007-03-02 canal street and bourbon street are a short distance from the hotel. We walked to dinner, the convention center (longer walk) and shopping from the hotel. The Barrone Plaza Hotel was very dissappointing. The hotel room was dirty - carpet appeared to not be vacuumed as there was candy on the floor. The walls had dust bunnies on them. I overall felt the rooms were not clean. If some attention to detail was given, there would be a great improvement in the perception of the Hotel. The hotel staff were courteous, but customer service was lacking, rolling of eyes, inappropriate comments, loud talking, music playing all night that echoed throughout the building. The hotel was nicely located just a block from Canal Street. The best kept secret in New Orleans was the resturant located at the entrance of the hotel. The food was very good and very nicely priced. Score 1 out of 5 scary hotel Anonymous, 2007-03-01 I know things are not great in New Orleans but stay away from this hotel. Very lifeless and in bad hood. I only stayed there as a last minute thing for a trade show. Score 4 out of 5 Mardi Gras Visit steve, San Diego, CA, 2007-02-20 One block from Canal and Bourbon Street.I found this a few weeks before my planned visit to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Considering the location (one block away from the start of the French Quarter) and price, this hotel was a great value. My only problem was that the heat didnt work very well. Would definitely stay again if prices remain reasonable. An added plus was the free wireless internet! Score 4 out of 5 Not very family friendly during mardi gras. Anonymous, 2007-02-19 Lots of nightlife close by.Nice sized room. Good location for walking around downtown. No parking during mardi gras though, had to park on the street. Score 5 out of 5 My review of Baronne Plaza Hotel Anonymous, 2006-12-10 Bourbon Street was only about 2 short blocks away. The Baronne Plaza Hotel was a nice facility. It was conveniently located to everything. The hotel staff was very polite and accomodating. However, our only problem was that the toilet kept running (the noise became a bit irritating). Overall, we will definately be using their facility again in the near future. Score 4 out of 5 Good location near French Quarter Thomas, 2006-11-11 There was lots of street noise during the night. Bed was comfortable in a rather plain room. The best thing it has going for it is the proximity to the French Quarter just 2 blocks away. Not a palace but definitely a decent place to stay. |
