Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Review Anonymous No review provided by user Score 5 out of 5 Very quiet and comfortable Mary, Minneapolis, MN There is a great pizza place right next door called Slice. My room was very quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable. While not large, the room was ample size. Unlike many hotyel chains the room and building had character. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great. I walked to the French Quarter along St. charles Ave., although one could easily take the streetcar. The archectecture was wonderful along St. Charles Street. If you want to get out of the French Quarter (Bourbon Street) to see what New Orleans is really like, this is a great location. My only complaint was that they did not have wireless access. Score 5 out of 5 Great Location Abigail, New York, NY, 2007-03-11 This hotel was perfect for us. Two friends and I stayed for 3 nights. It was nothing family, but it was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location is great as well, right on St. Charles Ave and only a short walk to Canal St. and the French Quarter. A great deal for the price. It is located in the Garden District, but a quick taxi or a longer wait for the St. Charles or Magazine bus will get you to the French Quarter. My wife and I did walk to the Quarter a couple of times but I would not recommend at night as there are about 7 blocks that are poorly lit, although we did not experience any problems. The hotel is located near a New Orleans Visitor Center which provided some great information. We also jumped on the Magazine bus and rode it to the Audubon Zoo. There is also a cemetery within walking distance that was fun to visit during the day. We were disappointed that the trolley was not in operation on St. Charles and doesn't sound like it will be running for at least a couple of months. Score 5 out of 5 very family friendly mark, Orlando, FL, 2006-12-29 every thing was great. Score 4 out of 5 if it's a room your looking for ,this is it Naomi, New York, NY, 2006-10-29 Take the bus it will bring you to it all..The room was pleasent enough with a little southern charm. It had a full size bed and T.V and a large antique mirror over a bricked unworking fire place that really gave it that charm. The bathroom was small but all you needed was there. Kudos to them for bringing back their lives to some normalcy. There were convenant coffee shops near by and restaurants of all kinds including the famous Emeril's. We were able to take a bus across the street that took you right to the French Quarter. For the price and location it made our trip memorable Score 5 out of 5 Friendly, quiet and convenient Anonymous, Hartford, CT, 2006-10-29 Tavern restaurant offers 24 hour service. Diner fare at its best with friendly staff and patrons.Avenue Garden Hotel has a wonderful, considerate staff and quiet rooms. It is convenient both to downtown and to the Garden district, near some fun local breakfast spots. The hotel decor is simple but tasteful. I plan to retrun. Score 5 out of 5 very nice larry, Houston, TX, 2006-07-08 don't eat breakfast at the traven across the street high price for bad serviceavenue garden hotel beds were very comfortable and the clerks were very helpful i love the bathrooms . all in all a very nice stay Score 4 out of 5 Katrina Donna, Providence, RI, 2005-08-28 A wide variety of restaurants to chose from in a short walking distance. We enjoyed the Avenue Garden Hotel for the short time we were there. "Katrina" cut our visit short as we were asked to leave a day earlier than planned. Several good places to eat and the convenience of the trolley outside the front of the hotel. Hopefully, it didn't suffer too badly from the hurricane. |
