Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 business trip linda, Houston, TX, 2006-02-16 I stayed in New Orleans which I thought was not ready for guest. It smelled of mildew and rotted water sometimes sewer. The Hotel was still being renovated and in my opinion should not be booking guest yet. Score 4 out of 5 Could Be Closer Jon, Salt Lake City, UT, 2005-08-14 Just a block outside the Frech Quarter, which is about five blocks from Bourbon Street.I found the staff exceptional, the rooms very adequate, and the overall cleanliness and appearance of this property good. However, remember that this is a Cendant property, which means no frills. I would rate it fairly high on the "value" scale, and fairly low on the "luxery" scale. It lies just at the northernmost edge of The French Quarter. Walking distance, but not recommended, however, the trolley stops just outside the front entrance and for $1.25 you can ride all the way to the river. We had fun riding the trolley, and would have taken a ride even if we were staying right in the French Quarter. I've stayed at both the Marriott and the Sheraton, and the rooms at this Amerihost are just as nice. Rooms are it though - the exercise room is small and sparce, no pool, and generally you could say pretty much no ammenities to speak of. They did serve up a full breakfast while we were there, but I understand it's usually just juice and danish. I can reccomend this property to those who want a good clean room in a well run clean propert for a bargain price, but if you're wanting to be pampered a little bit, this isn't for you. |
