Price wise very good for the money you spend. Great location for the things i had to do. More in rooms than expected. Will stay there if i go that way again. Score 4 out of 5 Old Howard Johnson Aint What it Used to Be Joe, Houston, TX, 2005-12-30 This was a very pleasant surprise since I wasn't knowing what to expect. I'm from Lake Charles but had never stayed at this hotel before nor in that part of town. Years ago, it used to be the Howard Johnson. Well, HoJo was never like this. The suite I had was most enjoyable. The only real kink in things was the instability of my room key cards. They wouldn't work consistently. I didn't try out other services such as internet or meal service, however, I understand that breakfast was the only meal served. This could be a drawback to those needing a close and convenient place for lunch or even a simple dinner. Score 4 out of 5 needs some work Bill, 2005-07-17 the rooms were ok...however there was no ice machine nearby nor did the air conditioner have any controls on it...we were unable to regulate the temp in our room and learned laterr that no room had any controls..it was rather noisy as a family reunion was going on and the hotel did nothing when we called to complain around 11:30PM..there was a refrigerator in the room but it was locked and there was not electrical outlet nearby to plug it into anyways...all in all my wife and i were rather let down with this stay.. mywife commented about it as she used to work for the same hotel chain in our home town...this hotel and the one in our home town are owned by the same man and my wife said that this never would have happened at her old hotel...thank you. Score 5 out of 5 Clean rooms and friendly staff Christine, Minneapolis, MN, 2005-07-09 I recently had to take an emergency flight to Lake charles to attend my Fiance's funeral. Richmond suites helped me to get a room the night before the funeral at the last minute. This was during hurricaine season in the south and they were pretty much booked solid, but they worked it out so I could at least have a room for one night. I will stay there again when I visit the area. Score 1 out of 5 No sleep Rosalind, Houston, TX, 2005-06-19 When I checked into the hotel, the staff member was not very friendly. Once I went to my room, soon as you walked in the building there was a terrible odor in the hall and the carpet looked dirty. I entered my room and it had the same horrible odor and the carpet looked dirty in it as well. The toilet was not clean. I always spray my rooms with lysol before touching anything. The lysol helped to get rid of the odor in the room. I pulled back the covers on the bed to spread the bed and there was some type of bug crawling in the bed. I called the front desk to inform them of this and they did not seem to concern. They offered to spray the room and said they didn't have anything available. No other accommodations were offered no apology or nothing. I called around to other hotels but they were all booked. I was there for a family reunion and had nowhere else to stay. Needless to say, I did not get any sleep that night because I was too scared to sleep in the bed. The ice machine on the floor did not work either. It was the worse hotel I have stayed in for quite sometime. I will never stay there again nor would I reccommend it to anyone else. Score 5 out of 5 Good value for Boston Area Dawn, Dallas, TX, 2005-05-30 This hotel is a good value for the Boston area. It provides a convenient airport shuttle 24 hours a day. The staff were very courteous. Check-in was quick, polite, and virtually painless. And when I checked out, there weren't any "surprise" incidental charges included in the balance due. The high speed internet access is slower than dial up, however, it is convenient that every room has internet access. Excellent continental breakfast buffet. Overall a very pleasant experience. |
