Joni, 2007-03-04 Casinos, Restaurants, DowntownThe Best Western Chateau Suite Hotel was a great place to stay for my weekend excursion in Shreveport. The room was really large with great ammenities...large bedroom, great sized kitchen, and a really comfortable living room area separate from the bedroom. I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival at the nicely decorated lobby and friendly staff at the check in desk....I was even more surprised to find how nice my room was once I checked in. The location was great and close to everything in the downtown area. I would stay there again for sure. I had zero complaints! Being bothered by the cleaning staff at 9:00 in the morning, with no request for the service, was not too pleasent after being up all night at Mardi Gras. Trying to take a shower tthat same morning was very bad because of no hot water and the top shower nozzle didn't work at all. The manager was quit nice and deducted $40.00 off the bill without batting an eye. From a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 5 or 6. If the shower had worked, I would give it an 8. To a degree some of the areas could have been considered safety hazard area. The room itself was nice and comfortable, and breakfast was OK. But the cost was more expensive than the new hotels and no where near the ambiance. After cheaking in at around 11:00 at night we went to the lounge. The bartender was awesome. You got complementry tickets for the bar and for the breakfast. The breakfast was excellent. This hotel was very close to the casinos. |
