Churchill Downs, The Fair Grounds, Kentucky Kingdom

Howard Johnson Express on Phillips Lane was easy to access from I-65, had great location as to the fair grounds or Churchill Downs. Is only 3 miles from Churchill, which required a cab, but the hotel clerk was friendly and helpful in acquiring one for us to be on time to the Rolling Stones/Alice Cooper Concert. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious for two people. Can't complain about this overnite stay in any way. Would return to the same hotel should circumstances arise.

The Howard Johnson Express was nice I had a late cheack in and the staff was very helpfull bathrooms were clean and I had a smoking room and you couldn,t tell it was very clean

Couldn`t ask for a closer hotel to the Ky. Fair and Expo Center. On the other hand, the exhuast fan in the bathroom did not work so it was very steamy during a shower.We asked for extra towels but didn`t get any.There was four of us,we need more towels.The A/C worked great!The ice machine close to our floor didn`t work.

The free shuttle to the airport was prompt and quickly done. As was the return trip back to the hotel. Our cars were safe too. We didn't really have time to eat the breakfast as we left early in the morning but the front desk person asked us if we wanted anything there that was available.

Kentucky Kingdom, fairgrounds & airport are next door!

It was very clean and the staff was very courteous however. They also had a free airport shuttle and a decent breakfast.

Good Location

The Louisville Cardinal baseball stadium is near by, as is other attractions.

My stay was only a couple days but I found everything to be as I had hoped. Ample parking, nice staff, great security in and out of the building....bascially, I liked it. It is within a short distance to the airport, and other major attractions, and appeared to be in a good neighborhood. No problems!
