We are home to Bear Track Landing, one of the largest indoor water parks in the nation at over 38,000 square feet! Our indoor water park features Fort Mackenzie, a 4-story, 12 level Tree fort with over 60 guest-activated water activities, topped with our huge Tipping Bucket that fills with 1000 gallons of water and dumps down every few minutes. Once on top, you can escape down on one of the 2 body slides or continue to explore the Tree fort using its cargo netting and suspension bridges. The water park also features 2 large tube slides that actually exit the building and reenter with a splash, a 3-person toboggan ride winds throughout the park, an endless Lazy River, a zero-entry childrens pool with interactive toys, 3 kiddie slides, an activity pool with water basketball and 2 large hot tubs! In the summer months, you will find Thunder Bay, an oversized activity pool that ranges from 0 to 4 feet deep and is complete with water basketball and kiddie activities. Children from 2 to 102 will love the 6000 square foot Northern Lights arcade, which has over 100 redemption arcade games with black lights, glowing carpet and fabulous prizes. Restore your sense of balance at Elements, an Aveda Concept Spa. This full service spa offers massages; nail treatments, and facials in a beautiful, tranquil atmosphere. After a long day of water fun, venture into Camp Critter, our Northwoods themed restaurant with wooden picnic-style tables and private dining tents, or grab a quick bite at the Spirit Island Snack Shop or enjoy sweet treats and Starbucks coffee in the Bear Claw Caf'.
Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Needs comptent employees Anonymous We waited in line to check in for about 30 minutes. When it was our turn in line the desk clerk told us she was going on break and closed her line. We then waited in line for another 20 minutes. The rest of the stay was fairly nice. Score 2 out of 5 Lots of Entertainment Kenny, 2007-02-20 I would reccomend Dave and Busters along with the T-Rex Cafe. Both add to the entertainment for the family and give several options to remain close to the hotel. The Legends shopping area in itself is top notch. As a whole The Great Wolf Lodge offers an environment the entire family can enjoy. The rooms as well as the facility is very clean and well layed out. The rooms have plenty of space and offer you ample room to enjoy time with the family. Story time along with the Cub Club gives parents a chance to relax while the kids are consumed with other activities. In my most recent visit, i felt the experience was not appreciated by the staff. Upon entering @ 11am, we were told we could not swim early because the hotel was full yet checkout for those staying the previous night was to be at 11. With this we had to leave the property and find other things to do. When you have young children anxious to start thier day, its difficult to explain to them why you cannot fulfill their desires. We were told to come back at 1 to check in. Upon our rearrival, we had to wait for over 40 minutes to check in as the line was down the hallway (unacceptable and unprofessional) along with only 3 staff members checking in the guests. Knowing the popularity of their facility, one would think they would be better staffed to handle the influx of guests at check in as well as have arrangements on how to handle the crowd. From there the stay was most enjoyable until we had to get food from the concession stand in the pool area. Again long lines and only one clerk ringing up items. Looked to be management stocking napkins (is that their job) and not interacting with the customers or even getting behind the counter to assist. It took 17 minutes to get fries and a corn dog. My question is where is the staff when you know you are going to be busy? Later that evening it got worse upon arriving at the resturant in the hotel to eat. 47 minutes to get a personal pan pizza, a salad and chicken strips. It took less than 5 minutes to cook two of these items in the concession stand by the pool but 47 when you added a salad? Waitress did not follow up to let me know that they were short staffed or behind. After stopping her, she explained that they were understaffed and had multiple room service orders. Are the customer that are front facing not more important than those that expect a longer wait for room service. Several guests with carry out orders were taken care of before i got my salad, chicken strips and personal pan pizza. I was told there was a job fair coming up on the 23rd or the 26th. And this is important to me why; did she want me to apply? With the amount of money the guests pay for the stay alone, not including gifts, snacks and the arcade, i feel the service has slacked off and the management is not staying on top of what the company offers. It made me feel that they knew people were coming no matter what and customers were not important. This hotel is a destination location and the staff should be prepared to handle to level of customers they often take care of. Score 4 out of 5 For kids 12 and under Kimberly, Wichita, KS, 2006-03-19 Plenty of other eating and shopping establisments are only moments away. Staying in this area proved to be a fun but hassle free weekend. The Great Wolf Lodge (water park) was a great experience and great fun for our 12 & 10 year olds who kept busy in the water park and arcade the whole time we were there. We also took our other children ages 13 & 15 and they didn't seem to get as much out of the lodge as our younger. I also thought the atmosphere was also targeted towards younger children. Our family did enjoy the variety of food served in the hotel restaraunt/bar and grill, and the spacious specially decorated suites. Easy to get to location and variety of other eating and shopping locations in the area also made for a fun but hassle free weekend getaway. I would recommend the Great Wolf Lodge for every family with children 12 and under. Score 5 out of 5 Wonderful family activity Anonymous, 2005-09-05 Kansas City Speedway next doorGreat Wolf Lodge blends ease of on location dining choices with all the things kids love such as waterparks and arcades. Truly there is something for every age child from zero depth pools and toys to dramatic fall waterslides. Your family will enjoy the K.C. Great Wolf Lodge. The area is also booming with new restaurants and shops nearby. Score 4 out of 5 Family Friendly Anonymous, Ashland, KY, 2005-07-15 We requested a family suite with a balcony and we ended up on the ground floor with hardly any patio area and people walked right by. Our bathroom tub kept running all night we couldn't get it to shut off. It was like that when we got there and told someone on our way out. Overall it was nice, our kids loved it and we will probably go back in the future. |
