Opened in September 1997, is a state-of-the art 303 room Hyatt Regency connected to Century II Performing Arts and Convention Center. Located downtown on the scenic Arkansas River, on the expanded River Walk, adjacent to the historic museum district, and 3 blocks from Exploration Place, 6 blocks from historic Old Town. All guest rooms offer a view of the Arkansas River. A four hundred foot long -- 16 foot high waterwall in front of hotel in River Walk Park is great outdoor venue for large and small catered events. Hotel and Resturaunts too expensive for an ordinary hotel ammenities. Nice view though on the 14th floor. Score 4 out of 5 My review of Hyatt Regency Wichita Anonymous, 2006-10-22 The hotel is right on the river and it is possible to have a very pleasant short or long hike on the riverside. The Hyatt Regency is a beautiful hotel, situated right on the river. Our room was lovely. We had one huge problem. The last night of our stay the people in the next room had a very loud party. By midnight I was fed up and called the desk and asked them to do something about it. They said they would call Security and send someone up. If they did, there was no let-up in the noise which continued for another hour or so. The walls in the hotel appear to have no insulation and you could hear every sound that anyone made. However, this ongoing party was way beyond any acceptable level, and I was very disappointed that the hotel did not handle the situation competently. There were few guests in the hotel, and I cannot understand why they put people in adjoining rooms in this situation. The hotel is in the middle of a construction site and the signage to get to the hotel was very poor. (It turned out you had to cross the river to get to the other side and come back on a different bridge to access the hotel). They were only installing utilities at the time, construction of the big development had not started yet, so it is going to be a long time befire there is decent access to the hotel. Score 5 out of 5 Very secure Anonymous, Melbourne, FL, 2006-09-04 Take a walk around the wall fountian and experience the sounds and beauty of this incredible design! The Hyatt Regency was very clean and comfortable. The bed was soooo comfy, it made for a great night's sleep! The closet was a bit small. The bathroom offered good counter space. The plasma TV was also a nice touch. The only thing I found dissatisfactory was that the hotel did not have a small refrigerator in the room. The location was great and the riverview was really nice. The wall fountain near the Hotel was awesome! The security at the hotel was also very much appreciated ... we felt safe. All in all , our stay was a very pleasant experience! Score 5 out of 5 Generally outstanding Brian, Chicago, IL, 2006-07-16 I thought it was a great hotel. The rooms were very nice and the staff was outstanding. The restaurant was absoultely perfect. Just what we needed after a long day of travel. The air conditioning in our room did not work well the first night, but was fine on the second night. Generally strongly recommended.
