cheap, clean, staff needs to have less of an attitude, no shampoo in shower, but what can you expect for a no-frills, bottom dollar place. only stay here if you are as hard up for cash as i am :-)

Driving south, there are quite a few restaurants.

Low cost hotel with enough comfortness for a stay. Friendly staff. Convenient location on a major road.

Close to shopping

If you like shopping at malls the University Park Mall is for you. It is about 3 miles from the motel. It is a large mall with lots of gift shops and a food court.

The room wasn't bad. The air conditioner didn't work very well. The shower water kept going to hot or to cold. I had to constantly turn the water knob to the right temp. Overall the room was fine. I slept pretty good. It was also quiet. Had no problems with neighbors or noise outside. I thought the room would have been larger but it was adequate for our needs. I liked being close to shopping like Walmart and University Park Mall and close to several restraunts.

Barren Room...Motel 6 South Bend

Good location.

The room was adequately clean, but sparse would not be adequate. Beds up against wall. No extras (ie tissue, coffee, blow dryer, toiletries). Shower consisted of shower head and pipe with curtain. No tub or shower space. TV was maybe 19" but had no sound or picture (snowy) when checked in. In am after wiggling cable connection to wall was able to get reception. Would compare to what one would think would be a deluxe prison cell. Didn't want to pull blanket close to face. Booked for 3 nites, stayed one. Was offered a free nite if I would stay for 2 more..........not a consideration. Really Bad!!!

Notre Dame was 5 minutes away, as was St. Mary's, and two golf courses just as close. Downtown was only 6 minutes away.

The room was ample, the bed fine, and the shower great. Location was great.

No reservation

the hotel had no record of my reservations. Hotel rooms are impossible to find in South Bend, In on a home football weekend. The staff actually was very nice about the situation and found me 1 room. Although I reserved 2 rooms. To date neither Motel 6 will take responsiblity for this error.

Steak and Ale right beside hotel. Food was excellent and reasonable. McDonalds, Fazoli's, and more all within walking distance

Motel 6 strives to make sure that your pets are included with the visit. The room was spacious, but the carpet could have used a cleaning. Our remote for the television did not work and the air conditioner above the door leaked, which I reported to management when we left. Overall we have a pleasant stay and hotel staff was eager to please. The location was very good only 10 minutes from our cat show and within walking distance of many restaurants and stores

Wet carpet in rooms

Motel 6 in South Bend on Route 31 North has a basic problem. In the summer all the carpets get wet since the air conditioners are installed above the room doors and the condensation drips on the floor. Some rooms smell of mildew, others have that masked but the floors are wet. The price is low but health issues are of concern.

Close to Saint Mary's and Notre Dame's campuses.

Somewhat run down. Old A.C. dripping outside our door. Close proximity to Notre Dame and Saint Mary's.
