Excellent Location

Anonymous, 2006-10-18

Every type of restaurant was close by - ranging from fast food to fine dining. The hotel was also located right by the highway, making it quick and easy to reach downtown Indianapolis.

The property was very nice - the public areas were handsomely decorated and very clean. The staff was superb, and really went out of their way to accomodate your needs. You really felt a strong effort was made to make your stay special. The only complaint was with the bathroom, there was some water damage from shower usage. If that were taken care of, it would be perfect. Generally, I think it was a great value for the money!

right off the interstate on 82nd street(same as hotel) is Loon Lake Lodge, which is a resturant that is AWESOME!

ask for what you want at check-in and persist

Linda, Phoenix, AZ, 2006-07-03

La Peep was great for breakfast. Loon's Lake was awesome food, a little pricy. Charleston's is across the major street and has good food.

Upon checking in to this Best Western, make sure to ask in details 'exactly' what you want and paid for. Otherwise, the staff will just give you whatever comes up on the computer screen. Be prepare to wait a while if checking in late at night, the manager is probably sleeping and your arrival will wake him. The eletronic keys given to guests, don't work well. So be prepared to do a little battle and have patience at the entry door and the workout room. If the key doesn't at the workout room, ask the front desk for help. The computer by the front desk is free and on-line, so that makes traveling a little easier. Nice restaurants near by.

A Place to Sleep

Margaret, Detroit, MI, 2006-02-22

Within short walking distance is many fast food type restaurants. The area is filled with many places to shop. The best is Trader Joe's which is just down the road. The hotel is close to main highways that travel into or away from Indianapolis in any direction.

The Best Western Castleton provided an inexpensive place to spend the night. The room was very clean and fairly comfortable. However, the control for the heat and air conditioning did not work adequately. The room was either freezing or hot with no in between. Also, the ice machine was not turned on. The entertainment center doors would not stay open so that I could watch TV. They had to be proped open with a desk lamp. It is the little things that make or break a one night stay at a hotel and I am not sure I would stay there again.

Very friendly and clean

Anonymous, Indianapolis, IN, 2005-11-06

The Best Western is behind the Einstein Brothers Bagels shop. It's hard to see from the road.

I would recommend this hotel. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly. It was very close to all kinds of great restaurants and the mall.

Huge Dissapointment!!!!

Laurette, Decatur, IL, 2005-10-30

shopping Restaurants

The Best Western Casteton was very dirty, small, run-down, and the staff was unfriendly, had made a mistake in booking the room that they blamed initially on my friend (who arrived at the hotel before myself). The room was MUCH smaller than other 3 star hotels I've stayed in, and there was mold and dust on the ceiling. Please change your rating of this hotel to at least only a one star! I was ripped off and hugely dissapointed.
