This $64-million, 64-acre facility celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2004 and features 2,000 animals roaming through simulated environments. Get up close with an armadillo or try your hand at feeding a giraffe. The zoo's immense Dolphin Pavilion was being renovated at press time and is scheduled to reopen in summer 2005; for an aquatic fix, check out the new seahorse exhibit. Located 30 miles northeast of downtown, this restored 19th-century village faithfully reproduces pioneer life between 1820 and 1840 with the help of 36 carefully restored buildings, crafts demonstrations, and reenactments of events on the frontier. In summer, you can take a picnic here and listen to a concert under the stars as part of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's "Symphony on the Prairie" series.

Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art
This impressive $14-million building houses one of the country's most notable collections of Native American and Western art. The "Art of the American West" collection includes works by Frederic Remington and Georgia O'Keeffe. The Native American artifacts include clothing, beadwork, and pottery from all over North America.

RCA dome is a short walk

The Omni Serverin Hotel is conveniently located in downtown Indianapolis within walking distance of the state capital, the convention center, the RCA Dome and many shops and dining establishments. The standard room is adequately sized and has a desk. Free wireless internet service is provided as well as two public use computer kiosks in the hotel lobby.

Wonderful hotel

I am not certain but, I think the hotel connects to the Circle Center mall???

We had a wonderful time at the hotel (Omni-downtown Indianapolis)and look forward to staying there again. I would gladly tell my friends and family about our great experience at the Omni.

Not for family or personal getaway

This hotel is suited for the business person, not the sightseer, as there seemed to be plenty of conference space, etc., as well as a lot going on in that aspect. As a lone traveler looking for an escape, I found the room to be no better than an average Holiday Inn - certainly not worthy of 4 stars, or the price. The neighborhood was definitely not family-friendly, and not suited for walking about alone, which I found to be very uncomfortable. I was booked for a Single Queen or King, and was disappointed to find that my room was a two double bed guest room, instead. The positives: The fitness packages that are offered for private use in your room, and the staff itself could not have been more accommodating. For the money, however, I would not stay there again unless the location was a necessity. (I have to say, I travelled to The Radisson Riverfronte in St. Paul, MN, from the Omni Severin in Indianapolis, and received ten times the value for half the price!).
