It is about 3 miles from the motel. It is a large mall with lots of gift shops and a food court.The room wasn't bad. The air conditioner didn't work very well. The shower water kept going to hot or to cold. I had to constantly turn the water knob to the right temp. Overall the room was fine. I slept pretty good. It was also quiet. Had no problems with neighbors or noise outside. I thought the room would have been larger but it was adequate for our needs. I liked being close to shopping like Walmart and University Park Mall and close to several restraunts. No extras (ie tissue, coffee, blow dryer, toiletries). Shower consisted of shower head and pipe with curtain. No tub or shower space. TV was maybe 19" but had no sound or picture (snowy) when checked in. In am after wiggling cable connection to wall was able to get reception. Would compare to what one would think would be a deluxe prison cell. Didn't want to pull blanket close to face. Booked for 3 nites, stayed one. Was offered a free nite if I would stay for 2 more..........not a consideration. Really Bad!!! Downtown was only 6 minutes away.The room was ample, the bed fine, and the shower great. Location was great. The staff actually was very nice about the situation and found me 1 room. Although I reserved 2 rooms. To date neither Motel 6 will take responsiblity for this error. McDonalds, Fazoli's, and more all within walking distanceMotel 6 strives to make sure that your pets are included with the visit. The room was spacious, but the carpet could have used a cleaning. Our remote for the television did not work and the air conditioner above the door leaked, which I reported to management when we left. Overall we have a pleasant stay and hotel staff was eager to please. The location was very good only 10 minutes from our cat show and within walking distance of many restaurants and stores Score 1 out of 5 Wet carpet in rooms Blaine, London, 2005-08-21 Motel 6 in South Bend on Route 31 North has a basic problem. In the summer all the carpets get wet since the air conditioners are installed above the room doors and the condensation drips on the floor. Some rooms smell of mildew, others have that masked but the floors are wet. The price is low but health issues are of concern.
