Most recent user reviewsScore 3 out of 5 Close to the Interstate Anonymous, 2007-03-04 I stayed at the Motel 6 which is Brand new on Interstate 55 just south of springfield, IL. It is close enough to the city but just far enough south that it doesn't get filled up during large conventions. The Staff was very Nice and the room was clean, my only cpmplaint was the Mattress which was like sleeping on a wire frame with a sheet over it. I wish I had the chance to eat there.The Motel 6 in Springfield Illinois was a good value for the money. Though the property looks like it could use some maintenance (hallway carpets were stained, for example), the room was clean. The room was small, without a closet, refrigerator or coffee maker. However it was relatively quiet and the air conditioner worked well. The staff was very efficient at checking us in and they were also nice enough to allow us a late check out, not later than 12:15 pm however. Security at the hotel was sufficient, with key-carded entrances. The parking lot was large and well lit. The shower/bath seemed a bit crowded, and it was hard to shower without brushing up against the shower curtain. Though not lavish, the bed was comfortable. Plenty of good restaurnts.Motel 6 proved to be a great choice. Next to the Hotel in a family style restaurant. We met family there, that was to stay with us. After hearing the cost and witnessing the professionalism of the staff as well as the comfort and cleanliness, he took a room himself. The hotel is close to Springfield, downtown and afforded us the time and opportunity to visit the many historical places.
