Red Lion Hotel on the Falls provides unsurpassed comfort on the Snake River, and is the gateway to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, Craters of the Moon National Monument and Sun Valley - all just a few hours away.
Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Great Location David All kinds of "chain" eatery's such as Chilis, Applebee's and Denny's. The Brewpub next door has a full bar as well as some fun homemade brewskis...The Red Lion in Idaho Falls, ID was in a great location. The view of the "frozen" falls on the Snake River were great to wake up to. It is steps from downtown I.F. and there are plenty of resturants in the area. On the other side of the spectrum, the hotel is old and outdated. The bathroom had no heat, so exiting the water pressure-less shower was a 'treat'. The vanity area was unkept and behind/around the microwave was filthy. At one point I went to use an outlet to plug in my cell phone charger, and nearly was electricuted. The plug to an ajacent table lamp was freyed and the copper was TOTALLY exposed. After the cloud of smoke cleared, we decided to watch some t.v...but no HBO or any movie channels. They did offer a pay-per-view option though. The bed was comfortable but in a pooly placed location. As you entered the room, you were practically falling onto the bed. It was to close to the entrance. The room seemed un-inviting and set up "backwards". All the paint in the state, could not disguise the years past on this 8 floor octagon. Thumbs down. Score 5 out of 5 Very Relaxing Billie, Phoenix, AZ We checked out several restaurants within a few blocks. It is a great location by the Idaho Falls on the Snake River. It tales only a few minutes to get anywhere from the hotel. We tried Applebees, Garcias, and Wingers Restaurants. Wingers has the best hot wings ever! The Red Lion On The Falls was very comfortable. The beds are some of the best I've slept on. The room was huge and the view was excellent. The hotel staff stopped by to make sure everything was to our satisfaction and very friendly. I would definitely stay in this hotel again and would highly recommend it to anyone. We stayed in the winter , but I think it would be very beautiful in the summer. Score 4 out of 5 Great Views Gerald, 2007-02-24 This hotel has great views of the Snake River and the LDS Temple from the windows. Score 1 out of 5 Idaho Fall Red :Lion Anonymous, Ontario, CA, 2006-03-20 While Idaho Fall is not a dining Mecca, some of t he best dining choices in the area are was conviently located near the hotel.Based on my previous experience with Red Lion Inns, I expected a good quality facility with good service. The hotel room I stayed in was extremely run down, it looked awful and the comfort was marginal. Score 5 out of 5 nice room patrick, Syracuse, NY, 2006-02-26 There are several restuarants within a short walking distance. The falls are also across the street. The Red Lion in Idaho falls was a great stop for a night. We stayed for one night. It was a great place to rest after a full day of skiing. The room was large with a couch to watch television. The staff was very helpful with directions and assissting us with finding dining accomadations. Score 5 out of 5 helpful Anonymous, 2005-12-22 a beautiful river is right near the hotelThis Red Lion was very accomidating and tried to give me the best room available for the same price. Score 5 out of 5 Review michele, Santa Barbara, CA, 2005-12-13 No review provided by user Score 4 out of 5 not much better in Idaho Falls Anonymous, 2005-11-25 River walk / falls across street. The room was quite large though a bit oddly shapen as the hotel is a round tower. The location of the hotel could not get much better, located on the river and overlooking the falls. The hotel itself is certainly a value, with helpful staff, good rooms and a great location as well as being a local landmark that anyone in the area will know and be able to get to/from without directions etc. The hotel is also conveniently located just a quick drive (or even a brisk walk) away from some of the better resturaunts in town (just down the street.) This is good as the on-site resturaunt could use a make-over, particularly the menu, which appears to aim at the higher scale, but does not appear to know that this would entail a higher level of food/service than Denny's. However, for Idaho Falls, having a resturaunt on-premesis is very rare, and if needed for the lazy or lite-night crowd, this could make up for lacking areas. Score 4 out of 5 My review of Red Lion on the Falls Anonymous, 2005-09-24 The hotel was ok. You want to stay in the towers, though. The rest of it is like a motel. It's clean and spacious. My dissatisfaction was not with the hotel. Score 4 out of 5 Nice place Reuben, Portland, OR, 2005-09-23 Nice hotel, people and location. The hotel is showing it's age a little though. |
