The Des Moines West Motel 6 is located on the west side of Des Moines, just 11 miles from downtown. This motel is also within 8 miles of Valley West Mall and Merle Hay Mall, and just 14 miles from Southridge Mall. The motel features an outdoor swimming pool, a guest laundry facility and select rooms with microwave/refrigerator units.

The location is good because it's right off the highway, and near a 24-hour gas station and restaurant. The motel has simple amenities but if you don't want to be bogged down with a lot of options you don't need (and don't need to pay for), then this is a good place to stop for the night. The area is safe, clean, and quiet. They have an elevator, which not all motels with only 2 or 3 floors have, I've discovered, so that makes a difference.
