Great proximity to beach, shopping and REAL hotels

My wife and I were very disappointed in our stay at the "Grand Champion" that is managed by "Destination Resorts". The room we stayed in was filthy & disgusting. I have lived in fraternity houses that were in better shape! Mice were running around the place constantly. The patio was dominated by ants & spiders. The beds are rock hard and make noise with any movement. There is a sign when entering the room that reads: "Please take off your shoes, Mahalo". Folks, the last thing you want to do is remove your shoes and walk around barefoot in that place. Also, be careful which pillow you decide to use while resting on the sofa, most of them are grungy. When I complained about the place to "Destination Resorts", the response I got was "Sorry sir, We don't own the properties, we just manage them. I will let the owner know" Nice! Maybe some rooms are better than others, who knows. Why gamble with your comfort & vacation, especially with a place that has a no refund, no recourse policy.

If you want a quick snack or want to eat out, both can be accomplished at the Shops at Wailea.

We were very pleased with the spaciousness of the condo. It's kept very clean. Although the furnishings scream late '80's, the rental is kept in very good condition. Another unexpected plus was our view of the tennis courts and partial ocean view. The room has a light and open feel- unlike what you get at most hotel rooms. We were very happy to stay at the Destinations Resorts property and would hope that our next stay is just as pleasant.

lots of shops and restaurants close by,many to choose from, we ate at the grand wailea (humu) for a special night out

the condo was close to a shopping ctr with many shops and restaurants. it was very clean,i especially like having the dishwashing and laundry detergent,soap,shampoo,hair dryer supplied. having all these things kept me from buying so much for just a few days(trying to pack it all up or either throwing the remainder out. also i really liked the flowers put around the condo,it made me feel really special. i would have liked a better view (the black construction wall was not attractive but i know this goes along with new construction)

A Relaxing Oasis

The condo is a short walk from Wailea Shops which include upscale shops including Louis Vuitton and Tiffany and Co. but also has more affordable shopping like The Gap and Banana Republic. We also enjoyed local shopping like Crazy Shirts and the ABC store.

The Ekolu condo was a beautiful choice for our getaway. It had a beautiful view of the ocean and it seemed very spacious. The pool was only a two minute walk away. Perhaps we would have liked the beach to be a little closer. Although it was only a 15 minute walk, we went everyday. The condo is close to shopping and other fantastic beaches. It was so quiet in our little oasis despite nearly all the condos being occupied. The condo was comfortable and we managed to make it feel like home. However, we probably would have liked it be cleaned on a daily basis when it was only cleaned every other day. Overall we gad a fantastic time. We plan on coming back to the same place.

There is a short walk or drive to the shopping center that has a deli, a restaurant that has great burgers.

The staff at Destination Resorts was friendly and courteous. The wonderful resort provides all the amenities of home. There is a separate bedroom with a very comfortable bed, a fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops, use of a top-of-the line washer and dryer, a dining area and separate living room with a lanai that overlooks the lavish greens, a television, a DVD/VCR player and stereo for our/your enjoyment. Destination Resorts is a cozy hide-away, A home away from home and we have recommended this wonderful place to our family and friends.

Rent a car to truly experience teh beauty of Maui.

I you like to scuba dive, head over to Maui dreams- their rates are fantastic, and the staff was so helpful and supportive.

In a place as expensive as Maui, having a condo with quick access to grocery stores made the condo perfect for a family! It was very spacious, well kept, and had close access to beaches, restaurants and shopping without being in the middle of the tourist areas. The staff was great (though the check in place was hard to find). We absolutely loved our stay and commented many times on how much we enjoyed the condo.

there are plenty of beautiful beaches and a nice shopping center with restaurants. The restaurants are fairly over-priced. Take a short drive into Kihei where you'll find more reasonably priced food and shopping options.

The grand champions at Wailea was truly exquisite. We were pleasantly surprised to find the condo we stayed at to be very big, with an extraordinary view, 2 bthrms and a very nice and well-equipped kitchen. I'd highly recommend this place for its price. It's also one of the few places with maid service; which was a great advantage! Especially comfortable for couples but works very well for families.
