LISTED BELOW ARE ARE OUR SPECIFIC COMMENTS ABOUT THE UNIT: 1) NO ILLUMINATION IN KITCHEN, STOVE OR DINING TABLE. INADEQUATE LIGHTING,MAKE READING VERY DIFFICULT. 2) THE TELEVISON SHOULD BE REPLACED. VIEWING, WAS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE THE PICTURE WAS NOT CLEAR AND HAD DISTORTED COLORS. 3) THERE WAS NOT A BROOM AND DUST PAN - THESE ITEMS WOULD HAVE BEEN USEFUL. WITH REGARD TO RECOMMENDING TO A FRIEND, I WOULD WITH RESERVATION. I WOULD SHARE THE ABOVE COMMENTS WITH THEM. LIKEWISE, I WOULD SHARE COMMENTS ABOUT THE GOOD RECREATION ACTIVITIES WITHIN WALKING DISTANCES. THE DINING FACILITY IS/WAS CURRENTLY CLOSED. Score 5 out of 5 Beautiful, low-key, and great golf Billie, Minneapolis, MN, 2005-11-21 Molokai is such a neat place. It is caught in a time warp and is somewhere in the 1930's. Resorts just don't make it when there is an average of only 100 visitors per day coming to the island. Kaluakoi is partly abandoned but the open part is well cared for, very safe and everyone is friendly. There is no restaurant (although one is planned) but the units have a kitchenette. For a most reasonable rate we had a studio unit with kitchenette overlooking the golf course, beach, and ocean. Phenomenal bargain. The golf course is one of the most beautiful we've ever played (many holes play along the ocean, #10 is my favorite hole I've ever played) and you can walk on most anytime you wish. Also very reasonable and the new manager is a really nice guy who wants you to enjoy the course and your stay. If you enjoy golf and mile long beaches with no one on them this is the place. If you're looking for night life go somewhere else, unless you're happy that the night life ends at 7:30. Go to Kanemitsu Bakery for some great bread and enjoy Hawaii the way it should be, no traffic jams, no overcrowded beaches, just beauty, solitude, and great unhurried golf. Score 2 out of 5 Outdated property in pretty location Dawn, Kauai Island, HI, 2005-11-20 Approximately 10-12 miles to Mauna Lona where the Molokai Lodge is for good food, shopping and the movies. About 15 miles to town where there was more in the way of shopping and restaurants. Nice beach just a few miles from the hotel.Arrived late in the evening and happily the keys with information on the lodging location were left for us. The room was old and in need of redo as it is very outdated. The property location is very nice and we did have a partial ocean view as promised. The pool was in a nice location overlooking the ocean but it was very cold so not comfortably useable. Very little else in the way of amenities as there are no close by restaurants but this was fine as we planned around it by keeping foods for some of our meals in the room. |
