Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Worked well for a place to stay, but needs updates Pamela, Dayton, OH, 2007-02-10 Take the back way into Kaunipalli to shop.. It is a better view than the highway and you will get to see small towns along the way that are hidden.I was disappointed in the accomodations...We stayed In The Kapalua Villas. Only half of the stove worked...All appliances looked as if they came from the 70"s. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable for my girls. All furniture matched the appliances.I expected a nicer, more updated accomodation than what I recieved. The property showns nine pools. I recieved the key to two. One key I never figured out where it was supposed to work!!! I am accustomed to staying in nicer places I guess. This was our last big vacation before my oldest daughter graduates. I wanted them to have the best. We had a great time. But the accomodations were a huge letdown. Score 4 out of 5 Kapulua Bay Villas Jack, Seattle, WA, 2006-10-12 Outstanding accomadations! Ideal location for golf. Warning, I would check that the construction project nearby is complete before booking this hotel again. It caused difficultly in getting to the beach. Also, lots of construction personnel and equipment were located near by. Score 5 out of 5 Perfect paradise! Winifred, 2006-10-03 Drive to Lahaina for shopping. Front Street is nice. Great art and handmade crafts under the big banyan tree every 1st and 3rd weekend of the month. An absolutely gorgeous view with accommodations that felt like our home away from home. The location was very peaceful. More than enough room with everything you could possibly need. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful with booking our excursions. We will definitely recommend the Kapalua Villas to anyone going to Maui. Score 5 out of 5 Relaxed location Anonymous, 2006-06-21 We were looking for a hotel that was not very touristy, and this was it. This is a 2 story condo complex, and the condos are very comfortable and relaxing. We loved the full kitchen loaded with dishes and appliances, and the washer/dryer came in handy. The views were beautiful and we had access to the Carlton Ritz next door. Definately will stay here again. Score 5 out of 5 VERY quite. Beautiful location. Mary, Ontario, CA, 2006-06-06 If you're interested in cooking at your Villa, check out the Star Market in Kaanapali. There are wonderful Weber propane Bar-B-Ques at the pool areas. We were right next to one of the pools and the Bar-B-Ques were rarely used. You can experience your own private party with a view of the ocean.Kapalua Villas is a GREAT place to stay, especially if you desire quite and a great place to golf. We stayed in a one bedroom condo. It has 1 1/2 baths and would work well for four people. This location is just far enough off the beatten path to be quite and restful, but close enough to not be inconvenient. If you chose to not drive while in Kapalua there's a free shuttle to take you anywhere in Kapalua. The telephone is also free (including long distance). There's a $15. a day resort fee though. Score 5 out of 5 Peace and Serenity at Kapalua Sharon, Palm Springs, CA, 2006-04-18 There is a shuttle that will take you anywhere you want to go in the resort whether it is golf, dining, beach or shopping. However, in the rental car I could get anywhere in just minutes. You certainly are walking distance to all activities as well. The Resort at Kapalua is the most beautiful place that I have ever visited. The amenities are fabulous, the people who work there and visit there are so friendly. Peace and serenity as soon as you enter the resort. They upgraded me to an ocean FRONT condo. I am not sure why as my flight was almost 5 hours late getting there, but the keys for my original condo were not quite ready...worked out very nicely for me. The condo was beautiful and clean and the staff was there to help if there was anything I needed. The golf courses, as always, are the best. Score 5 out of 5 Maui golf condo with ocean view Deborah, 2006-04-09 Good beaches can be accessed from the resort, especially the left (west) side of Oneloa Beach (good snorkeling when calm) and Kapalua Beach (more protected from the wind so you aren't beat up by the surf). Note: All beaches in Hawai'i are public beachesVery spacious, well-equipped and well-decorated 1 br/2 bath condo on golf course with views (from living room, bedroom and lanai) of the ocean and the islands of Molokai and Lanai as well as the golf course. Very spacious private balcony (lanai). Large desk area in bedroom, spacious bathroom with vanity area separate from bathtub/toilet area in master bath. Lots of closet space and storage in both the bedroom and kitchen. A MANDATORY $15 "Resort Fee" (charged at checkout) which covers "Free" tennis and special golf rates (3 courses one of which is a PGA tour course) as well as other resort amenities. Several swimming pools are at each villas complex (golf villas, bay villas, ridge villas.) Villas also share amenities (and charge privileges) with Ritz Carlton hotel which has beautiful pool area, terrific fitness center and fine restaurants. Nice shopping mall next to what used to be the Kapalua Bay Hotel. (Now closed, to be rebuilt as condos.) Kapalua resort is very well manicured and green and is a bit away from the hustle of Ka'anapali and Lanai -- good if you're looking for a quieter, plusher setting -- but Kapalua is windier and a bit wetter than the other resort areas leeward of the mountains. The grounds of the Kapalua resort are dramatic with drives lined with Cook Island palms and surrounded by a natural preserve area. Score 3 out of 5 the place we loved and hated Joy, 2006-03-12 Perfect in every way if you like some quiet but amenities of all sorts nearby and more ten miles away.Location was fabulous, condo was perfect with view sounds from downstairs and upstairs of the ocean. Easy access to water. Terrific! However, the unit was 50's ugly and used-as my husband said, It looked like 50's Florida. Very disappointing. The staff worked with us to find another upgraded option but bedrooms were in the back on the road or other problem. We loved the up and downstairs set-up too much to trade. Instead we received a two night discount and $100 toward a dinner. They were very helpful-but I wondered whether they really gave us good alternative choices or held out on us. We would go back because but would choose the same set-up and hope not to have to pay more. This unit should not have been rented. Score 5 out of 5 Fantastic Getaway Ambuja, Detroit, MI, 2006-02-23 Both the Ritz Carlton and the Bay Hotel offer grand buffets. Their omlettes are to die for! And don't forget to try the freshly squeezed juicesThe Kapalua Villas were extremely comfortable.I loved the well equipped kitchen and the convenience of the washer/dryer. (My family came back from the vacation with a bag full of clean clothes!) We stayed in the Ocean Front Villas and the view was just amazing from both the floors. Since it was part of the Bay Hotel and the Ritz Carlton resort area, we got to enjoy their beautiful pools, their delicious buffets and the beach activites at the Bay Hotel. Also close to the area is a pineapple plantation which offers horse riding tours everyday. Try it! You'll love it! Score 5 out of 5 Truly Comfortable Maui Ed, San Jose, CA, 2006-02-20 Morning walks to the Honoloa store are a great start to the dayKapalua is one of the wonderful areas of Maui. The beaches, the golf courses, and the golf villas all are outstanding in beauty, comfort, and accessibility. The staff was helpful without being too much. The Rooms were clean, comfortable, and well kept. i highly recommend the Kapalua Golf Villas for anyone's trip to maui. |
