The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa has been called one of the most spectacular resorts in the world. Mysterious and magical. Lush tropical splendor. A place where time seemingly stands still. Where rare arts and crafts of the Pacific blend with simple elegance into a sunny atrium and verdant tropical gardens. A place where broad promenades are filled with fragrant blossoms...where waterfalls cascade into shimmering pools and velvet grottos...where three miles of soft white sand sparkle against the blue waters of the Pacific.
Hotel charges an additional Resort Fee of $15.00 USD per room, per night upon check out.
Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Nice Location Anonymous Front street has many small shops. The Hyatt wis a very nice property. We enjoyed the view of the ocean and the great service provided by the hotel staff. Room for improvements: The room was small and bathroom toilet and tub need to be updated. The prices at the spa and the restaurants were overvalued. You could do much better on front street. Overall it was nice, but we expected better. Score 4 out of 5 Not worth the extra $$ Anonymous, Minneapolis, MN, 2007-02-18 Make sure you check out Lahaina, a town that is only a 5 min drive from the hotel. There are great shopping spots and restaurants there, as well as charter boats that will take you out for deep sea fishing or whale watching. This hotel was located in an ideal spot on Ka'anapali Beach. We could have gotten another hotel on the same beach with the same fantastic views for much less. Our initial room was located right by the elevator on the ground floor, which was actually partly underground. So the nice views were only after walking out to the beach. The room itself was only average size with average amenities in it. I was expecting a bit more luxury. Score 5 out of 5 My review of Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa sigrid, 2007-02-07 Shopping and dining selections are extensive at the hotel and much more is available at Whalers Village a short distance away. great walking areas along the beach. The Hyatt Regency is a beautiful hotel in a very nice location, convenient to Whalers Village. We had trouble during the night with some extremely noisy neighbor guests and the hotel staff was immediately responsive to this uncomfortable situation. The staff moved us the very next day to another room and we were most happy with the rest of our stay. Score 5 out of 5 very nice staff Dave, Seattle, WA, 2006-10-04 Whalers village a short walk away with all ammenities. This was our first stay here, we were very impressed! The staff was always offering to take our pictures together, and always willing to take a moment to ask you how you're doing. Score 4 out of 5 My review of Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa Jeffrey, Phoenix, AZ, 2006-09-26 Shopping and dining was either within a short walk or short driveI found the bathroom and closet area small and inadequate. Score 5 out of 5 Great Relaxation Anonymous, 2006-09-23 SHopping in Lahaina can get busy at night, so if you want to avoid crowds go mid day. You will also have an easier time finding parking in the public parking lots.Rooms were very comfortable and clean. The entire staff from the valet, concierge, and housekeeping crew were very friendly and accomodating to my requests. I was a little disappointed with the sushi bar, but other than than the trip was well worth it. Score 5 out of 5 Great Hotel Mary, Phoenix, AZ, 2006-09-04 All shopping was close by. There are shuttles to transport you if you do not have a car. If you do have a car, there are many short day trips to beautiful places to visit. This hotel was perfect. There was not a thing missing. The staff was extremely professional. The restaurants were all excellant, with great service. The grounds were maintained at all times. I highly recommend this property as you next place to stay in Maui. Score 3 out of 5 Nice Hotel, Not so Great Staff Dawn, 2006-08-28 Go early if you have a family, the restaurants fill up fast.Hyatt Regency Resort, Maui is a beautiful beach front property with an excellent pool (awesome kids pool). The restraunts are very pricey and the food only marginal. The rooms are on the small side and the staff is less than friendly and not very family oriented. Two examples (of many many many): First, they give you flower leis upon arrival as well as shell necklaces. My two year old loved his necklace and asked the lady at the desk for another one in the morning. She asked him if he got one when he checked in, he looked at her blankly (he is TWO!) and I said, well yes, but he would like another one. She said, I am sorry, but no. My immediate thought was that they must be costly, but I went to the local ABC store and found them at the whopping price of 5 for $.99! Second, I broke my wrist during our stay (not on hotel property) and inquired with the concierge where the nearest hospital was so I could go have it taken care of (and covered by my health insurance). She was very reluctant to tell me where the ER was located and pushed me to see the Dr. on staff at the resort. I explained the insurance situation and that I wasn't interested in paying resort fees for a Dr. to tell me to go get an xray at the local hospital. She actually argued with me about the length of the drive etc. and how much better off I would be seeing the resort doctor during his hours between 8 and 11am, and "sometime in the afternoon that I am not sure of." I was appalled, and walked away and consulted the GPS in the rental car. I would not stay here again solely because of the staff.
