Located between the resort areas of Kaanapali Beach and Kapalua Bay on Maui, the Outrigger Royal Kahana offers air-conditioned condominium units in a high rise setting on the beach at Kahana. The majority of units have spectacular ocean views, with the islands of Molokai and Lanai in the distance. Each studio, one- and two-bedroom unit boasts spacious living areas that are comfortably furnished along with full size kitchen facilities, color TV, washer/dryerand daily housekeeping service. When not lounging on their private lanai, guests can enjoy the resort's oceanfront pool, barbecue area, two lighted tennis courts, fitness center and saunas. There is also an activities desk on property where guests can secure information about shopping and dining around the island as well as make reservations for luaus, sightseeing tours and other activities. Effective November 16, 2006, this will be a completely non-smoking property.

It's and older style property, the views are fair, the northern side was subject to renovation noise coming from across the lawn at another resort. The beach is very thin(maybe 30 feet from lawn to waters edge. Overall it was descent for the costs, but we will upgrade our accomodations in future trips. The Okazuya Deli was a great option for less expensive take-out eating - great variety and great food.Our room was a studio partial ocean view on the 8th floor. We had a great view of the ocean from our lanai. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The free mai tai happy hour on thursday evenings was fantastic! Anonymous, 2006-07-09 The Outrigger Royal Kahana was a decent hotel for the price, but if you don't have a car, it is not close enough to restaurants and things to make it a good choice. Also the beach was not very welcoming, and you couldn't walk very far on the beach before it became impassable. It had a nice kitchenette, which helped keep costs down for incidental meals and a W/D was nice to have as well. The place was clean, but no restaurants or amenities were in it... There is one small shopping center within walking distance, but the main attractions are a bit further away.Outrigger Royal Kahana was the perfect fit for my wife and I. We bought groceries the day we arrived and ate breakfast and lunch in the room (equipped with a full kitchen) most days, allowing us to splurge on dinner and excursions. We had a breathtaking sunset ocean-view and immediate beach access. My wife and I work out regularly and were pleased with the fitness facility complete with cardiorspiratory fitness equipment as well as muscular strength and endurance equipment. The location in Kahana was very convenient with quick access to Kapalua and Kaanapali. Overall, we thouroughly enjoyed our time and the Outrigger Royal Kahana in Maui. On-site Attraction Guide Service is also available if looking for things to do in Maui.The Outrigger Royal Kahana provided us with comfortable lodging and nice amenities like a full kitchen and washer / dryer in the room. Although located directly on the ocean, a drawback was the lack of a sand beach. Only a natural rock beach exists. However, there are numerous public beaches within close proximity. |
