On the beach

Get the comp breakfast at the hotel, the diner buffet was a rip.

A quick weekend trip from Oahu and we got lucky and found the Ka'anapalani Beach Hotel. The Tiki Bar was recommended and did not dissappoint. The only concern was the pool cleaner that sounded like a UFO landing at 530 am. The whales frolicked and the nitelife was mellow. A nice weekend on the beach.

We have been to the Kaanapali before and loved the feeling of family. The property is a bit dated and shabby now, but in an outstanding location. I still think it's great for families, small and low-key. However, plan to have them charge for every service (in-room safe, parking, etc.) which detracts from the 'resort' experience.
