Don't miss Puka Dog in the shopping center across the street for a quick and delicious hot sausage or veggie dog.

Castle Kiahuna was very centrally located on the south shore, with easy access to beaches, restaurants, and sights. Having a kitchen made dining both more affordable and enjoyable--we ate breakfast every morning on the lanai overlooking the ocean.

WE WERE SO PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WITH OUR ACCOMMODATIONS. THE CONDO WAS SITUATED IDEALLY ON THE LUSH GROUNDS FOR THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF THE OCEAN AND PALM TREES. CO-INCIDENTLY, OR NOT, OUR LAST TRIP TO HAWAII, HAD AN EQUALLY FANTASTIC VIEW!! WE FELT WE WERE TRULY IN PARADISE!!

Good Location for rest

The hotel is in a lovely place, a little paradise with orchid gardens, green vegetation closed to the beach, and shops, restaurants. The only thing quite strange is that you have to cross the road (better to take your car) to go to the swimming pool. It was not a problem for us, we prefered going to the beach. The condo was fully equiped, very comfortable, a balcony with table and chairs where every morning, we had our breakfast. I really recommend this condo, specially the room with the ocean view, fabulous !

Castle Kiahuna is located directly across the street from a shopping center with great restaurants and shops.

If you are looking for a place with no entertainment, only one restaurant, no activities and a pool located across the street from the hotel then this might be the place for you. The condo we had was clean but somewhat run down. The staff and maid service were good. Although the hotel was located on the beach we had to drive our car down to it because our condo was so far from it. The pool was nice but not convenient enough to go to. The grounds are lovely and although the restaurant was pricey the meal was good. We had the opportunity to look at other hotels in the area and will stay at one of them if we go back. Castle Kiahuna was only a place to sleep and nothing more.

Well worth it!

Paradise Lost

We had fun Kayaking in Fern Grotto area. We also played golf at Wailea club. In addition, we hiked in Waimea canyon, as well as swimming & snorkeling at Tunnels

I have stayed at this hotel once before-closer to the ocean. This time we were stuck in Bldg.39, which was very noisy from being next to the main road, road construction, and so many roosters crowing!! If I wanted to hear roosters I would have gone to a farm in Iowa! Anyway, I was very dissatisfied from lack of concern from the staff when I asked for a different room. We found solace in the beautiful weather(minus the earthquake), but one expects peace & quiet when you come to paradise. We are debating to ever come back.

Each unit has a kitchenette so you can save money by "eating in" some during your stay. Take the helicopter tour. Its worth the money.

If you want a no frills island getaway, this is it. It has an old time island charm. The Kiahuna plantation is centrally located in Poipu.

Roy's Steakhouse across the street was the best restaurant we have experienced in our many trips to Kauai. We walked along the beach to Shell's Steak and Seafood at the Sheraton. Wonderful ambiance, but the food was only so so.

This was the perfect hotel for us on the south shore of Kauai. The room was set up like a single bedroom condo, with a full kitchen, dining area, sleeper sofa and huge furnished lanai (balcony). The property is ocean front, located next to the Sheraton. There are some great longboard and shortboard surf breaks out front, for a wide range of ability during a south swell (summertime). We were slightly disappointed that the pool and hot tub were across the street (not on the property) and closed at 6:00.

Short walk to the beach and surf lessons. Shopping is across the street and a small town not to far away. The spouting horn is just a few miles and not to far back to the airport when going home. this property is a good location and the best for the beach.

Our stay was very comfortable. Easy access to the beach and great surfing weather we had the last week of August 2006. This unit had no air conditioning but you didn't need it. Beaches were very clean and the ocean was perfect. We had a no smoking unit and a king size bed. It was very clean and had a nice patio to relax on. we had ocean view and somehow you could view it. Some you can and others it is a stretch. We really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was a help for small meals and just having breakfast in the condo was nice. in the center of the property is a barb-Q grill that you will want to use , it drawns the most beautiful birds when cooking outside. Next to this hotel is a public beach for surf lessons.
