You can find authentic handmade Kauai jewelry from local artists. Our favorite stop was for fresh fruits that you can't find at home like rambutans and logans. And to cool off, we had some shaved ice!The Princeville Resort was luxuriously comfortable. The resort staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our ocean front room was gorgeous. We had the most beautiful view from dawn to dusk. We left the windows open through the evenings just to hear the ocean. We loved the green and black marble bathroom with the his and hers double sinks. We especially enjoyed the oversized marble tub. The location was perfect. We were conveniently close to beautiful and quietly secluded beaches. Our most enjoyable and memorable experience at the Princevill Resort was the Friday dinner seafood buffet. This was no ordinary buffet. It was a gourmet seafood feast to die for. Also, the Princeville Resort has the best Mai Thy in Kauai. We tasted all the Mai Thys on the island and could not find one in comparison. Princeville is a place for kings and queens. Also, grab a bottle of wine and some cheese and crackers and head to Bali Hai beach for the sunset. Magnificant! Do not miss the Helicopter tour of the Island.The Princeville Hotel is located in an area that is a little slice of heaven. It is a convenient base from which to explore the beautifule island of Kuaui. The hotel structure is grand - the lobby is nicely kept and impressive. The disappointment comes when you move from the lobby to the rest of the hotel. The hotel is very tired and in desperate need of a total makeover. The views from the rooms can be spectacular but the carpeting is old and worn - bring your flipflops.... The bathrooms are clean which is curious because the cleanliness of the rest of the room is definitely not up to acceptable standards - our coffee cups were very dirty in our room and had not been cleaned for some time . The staff is not customer focused and appears to be trying to work at reduced staffing levels which means they are tired and not at their best. For Spa lovers, the Spa is small, remote and outdated. The staff will tell you it needs a total update. In general, the food is non-descript but the breakfast buffet is really good. Administratvely, they are very disorganized. They charged us the full room rate for all guests in our party which made it triple the standard rate. Unraveling the error took an enormous amount of time. In addition, there were several stary charges on the bill. Check your bill very carefully upon check-out. |
