Dennys,Walmart,Safeway 6 blocks away.AIRPOT 8 miles to the north. @ lane road that gets busy. Rental car return close by with good shuttles. Chrck in less than ideal time wiseHotels grounds were well kept. Staff was friendly.Hotel parking was not too good, $6.00 a day to park. The rooms were nice enough, the maid service was slow, however we were the last room in the hall. Location was good for the tourist stuff. The attractions were good. I had to attend a 1.5 hour marketing blitz about time share, attending did save some money on The Nautilus Submarine ride Also by going to time share meeting it saved money on the Luau at King Kakahamena (SP) hotel. Also, the fixed wing air tour for a hour and forty minutes was discounted as well for attening the time share meeting. The hotel was centrally located except for the airplane tour. Continental breakfast at the Kona Seaside was less than what I had expected. Muffins and coffee, with some juice. Swimming pool was nice, laundry available. Score 5 out of 5 Best for $ in Kona Thomas, Atlanta, GA Big Island is a wonderful place to visit. I recommend a rental car as the only transportation is grossly overpriced taxi's and expensive tours. Much can be seen and done on-your-own with a car. There is a parking fee at most downtown Hotels, but it is worth it and savings are had in the long run.The resonable price, nice location and freindly service were just great. We had a room with a veiw of the bay and the sound of the waves. The staff were freindly and efficient. Room was clean and all for a very resonable price. We will recomment this hotel to our friends. Score 5 out of 5 Great Staff Anonymous, Fargo, ND The hotel staff were very kind and went out of their way to do a good job. The daily breakfast, and view from the breakfast area, were great suprises. Score 4 out of 5 Seaside Hotel Glenn, San Francisco, CA, 2007-03-11 All shopping and restruants are within short walking distance. This is clearly an older hotel without modern rooms. They were clean and comfortable, however the bath room, closets, and desk were fairly old fashion. Ice was not readily available and shut down after 9:00 p.m. I found that a little unusual. Parking was a premium and sometimes had to use adjacent lots. It was convenient walking distance to all downtown restruants and shops. For the money, it was adequate, but not something to say, Wow, we got a great deal. Score 3 out of 5 Rundown but in town Anonymous, Sacramento, CA, 2007-03-06 The Seaside was very clean, but it has not been up dated in at least 40 years. Score 5 out of 5 Good room accomidations Anonymous, Denver, CO, 2007-03-04 Its located in between lots of shopping and fun places to go. If you go away from the ocean there is a small mall, groccery store, banks, and a shopping center. If you go twords the ocean there are lots of tourist shopps, night clubs, and resturants. The over all hotel its self was exellent. I was pleased to find out that my room had a refridgerator, and a balcony facing the pool. It was easy to check in and check out. The location was close to the ocean (but not over looking it) and close to every where that I needed to go for the weekend. I was dissatisfied to find out the hotel didn't offer a free bus or something to the air port, the shower head was not up high enough (you had to bend down to rince your hair, I can't emagine trying to use it if I was taller), all of the balconies were connected, all you had to do was climb over the railing and you could get to every balcony on that side of the hotel, if you choose the stairs over the elevator you may be dissatisfied, there is no carpeting or decoration, it seems to me like they decided no one likes to use the stairs so why should we make it up and feel warm and homey like the rest of the hotel, and that the pool closed at 6pm (too early to close a pool, it wasn't even dark out). I also didn't like that you had to pay $0.50 for local phone calls. They had a continental breakfast, which didn't have much but bagels, donuts, muffins, toast, coffee, and a small selection of juices. But it was alright and it filled me up. But they stopped serving at 8:30. It seems since the check out was 12 that they could offer it until like 10 at least, and they didn't mention it to me when I checked in, I had to find out on my own. They had two different pools, the second was close to a laundry mat, and where breakfast was served. They were located really close to a very very good sea food resturant (called Quinn's). The room clean and for 1 person I had two beds, queen size. Score 3 out of 5 House keeping not great Anonymous, Honolulu, HI, 2007-02-27 Shops and Beach near by.Towel and soap replacement was poor. Parking was extra charge, with stalls that are so narrow that you can not get out of vehicle, whithout a lot of effort, even for compact vehicle. Score 4 out of 5 close to town Anonymous, 2007-02-17 close to the water front with many little shops and restaurants. The hotel was in a great location but the price was to high for the quality of the room. Score 5 out of 5 Family friendly Anonymous, Honolulu, HI, 2006-11-24 There was a buffet at a restaurant within walking distance, which was great. No hassles for parking space. The Kona Seaside Hotel was very nice and comfortable. It was close to other activities on the Main Street and to other restaurants. The location is good in that we were able to walk around to shop and to get to the Kailua Bay. |
