Score 5 out of 5 Beautiful Hotel Kimberly, Phoenix, AZ, 2007-03-13 There are great little resturants along the beach as well as close to the hotel.When you walk into the Sheraton Moana Surfrider, you are walking into history. It is beautifully kept, with a wonderful staff. We had a great view of the beach and enjoyed hearing the ocean at night. We have spent two anniversaries there and would recommend this hotel to everyone. Score 5 out of 5 Still has the location JAMES, Miami, FL, 2007-02-19 Rent a convertible and explore the island as Waikiki and Honolulu don't do justice to the island.The Moana was the first hotel on Waikiki Beach and they certainly picked the best spot on the beach and central location to everything. As they say in real estate location, location, location. Service was better than expected, although Sheraton always does a good job, and staff went out of their way to make or 22nd wedding anniversary a memorable one. The hotel is showing some signs of wear. We had no problem with anything, although the bathrooms are smaller than expected. If we had any complaint it was the number of weddings (at least 3 per day)that took place during our stay. Apparently it is actually cheaper for the Japanese to fly to Hawaii and honeymoon than to have a wedding in Japan. We certainly will return. You are pretty much across the street from the International Market and also have all of the upscale shops a short distance as well. As for food, I highly recommend Hula's Cafe which is right above Dukes Restaurant and there is always Keonis on Kuhio just a block North of the hotel.The Sheraton Moana Surfrider was beautiful and extremely comfortable. Additionally, the staff was very pleasant and always willing to help out. The location of the hotel is centrally located to all of fun in Waikiki. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely book my next trip there again. Score 4 out of 5 Great Location! Rick, Los Angeles, CA, 2006-08-29 The Sheraton Moana Surfrider is a beatufiul hotel right on the beach in a centrally located part of Waikiki. We enjoyed the easy beach access and towels provided by the pool staff. There are many shops and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, including the International Marketplace which contains a variety of good, affordable dining options. Cindy, San Diego, CA, 2006-07-25 The great location allows for some fun and easy shopping, with malls, shopping centers, boutiques, and convenience stores all within quick walking distance!The Sheraton Moana Surfrider was a great hotel. Though the room was a little on the small side, it was very nicely decorated and clean, making it feel more cozy. The location was fantastic - right in the heart of Waikiki and on the beach. It had a wonderful restuant/bar facing the beach with a view of Diamond Head and surf classes out in the ocean. The hotel also had no shortage of sitting areas throughout, making it even more inviting. My favorite were the rocking chairs along the front of the hotel, allowing you to watch the action along the main street through Waikiki. There were also nice tables and chairs in the back, separate from the restaurant, so you could just sit and look out at the water without feeling like you had to order something! Score 4 out of 5 Great hotel, but the room... Carole, 2006-07-22 The Banyan Veranda is a wonderful place for afternoon tea or dinner. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is old Hawaii and unique on Waikiki.I've stayed here several times before. The hotel is absolutely beautiful! I was not pleased with the room we got -- partial ocean view in the tower, but it was on the 3rd floor and had essentially a view of the hotel next door and the roof of the hotel's meeting rooms directly below. It was across from the restaurant which smelled icky, so it wasn't pleasant sitting out on the lanai. Score 5 out of 5 Great location Anonymous, Boston, MA, 2006-07-01 International Marketplace across the street is a great place to grab a quick, inexpensive meal (plus great for souvenir shopping.) This was an ideal place for our first dinner in Hawaii, upon landing in Honolulu, great choices (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino) and very wallet-friendly.Absolutely the best location in Waikiki, right on the beach, with gorgeous views from lobby, and all restaurants/bars/cafes. Also located very close to stores, restaurants and nightlife. The beach and water were the most pristine we'd seen in Hawaii, with great surf and crystal clear water. Simply divine. Our room was in the newer Tower wing, which we chose because all rooms come with a lanai (an important feature for my husband who likes to sit out and watch the beach scene.) We had a partial view with lanai, which was pretty good. About 1/3 of view was ocean, 1/3 the Outrigger hotel across the way, and 1/3 the mountain/city view. Not bad for the money. Beds were very comfy, TV a little small (27), and we had a problem with our AC leaking. It caused a large damp spot (5'square) in the room, which remained there for our stay. We had to be careful that our towels, clothes, suitcases weren't near the area. That was the only downside, the rest was above par. The service from front desk, valet, and porters were exceptional. I would definitely stay again, and perhaps splurge for the full ocean next time. Enjoy! That save us a lot of money!Wow...what a beautiful building. The old wooden structure, rocking chairs on the porch and the beautiful trees! We were welcomed with a cold wash cloth and some fresh squeezed juice, very nice! The beach was very busy and good poolside seating was hard to come by, but the food was wonderful and the settings were all very ellegant. For some reason the poolside staff made us feel very uncomfortable, almost unwelcome and we really wish there was a hot tub, but those few things were easy to oversee in such a beautiful place! Score 5 out of 5 My review of Sheraton Moana Surfrider Michael, Chicago, IL, 2005-10-31 The Sheriton Moana Surfrider provided a great location and ammenities. The 'Beach Bar' offered great comfort and wonderful seaside sunsets with warm ocean breezes at anytime. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever had in a hotel room. The room itself was a tad small, but we did stay in the oldest section of a hotel orfinally constructed in the early 1900's. The character of this hotel is more than supperior. I warmly look forward to my next stay. |
