Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 A Great Hotel for the Senior Traveller tommy There is a great Irish Pub just across the street. While up the street there is a wonderfull pancake house. The Joy Hotel has an excellent location only a block and a half straight down to Waikikii Beach. The staff are very helpfull and the buffet breakfast was certainly what seniors want. The Wi-fi did leave something to be desired but was useable. The Joy's location just half a block off the main street in relation to price makes it a very affordable hotel. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and hope to be able to go back next year Score 2 out of 5 Needs updating very badly judy, Minneapolis, MN, 2007-02-16 Everything to do in Waikiki is a short walk away or a quick bus ride. The Waikiki Joy hotel has a very nice location. It is close to everything. The bathroom was the nicest part. It had a jazzuzi tub and nice tile and fixtures. The bed was comfortable and the bedding acceptable. But the carpet was filthy and the walls needed paint very badly. The furnishing were very also. I would not stay there again unless capeting and paint were cleaned and updated. Within short walking distance. The hotel is about two blocks away from the International Market Place. There are so many vendors its one stop souvineer shopping. The ResortQuest Waikiki Joy Hotel was a great find. The room was very very comfortable. Besides the king size bed we had a small refrigerator as well as stereo with Bose speaker system. The bathroom was equipped with a full size whirlpool tub. With all that my favorite thing was the lanai. We were on the 6th floor with the tops of two large palm trees right at eye level. We had a spectacular view of Diamondhead mountain. At night the view of the sky was spectacular. We were only a block and a half from Waikiki beach. Less than a 10 minute walk. The location was perfect. The free continental breakfast was a nice way to start the day. Every morning the Honolulu Advertiser was delivered to the room. The valet parking service was also a very nice feature that was reasonably priced. Score 5 out of 5 A Great Value Anonymous, Houston, TX, 2006-07-16 Bargain shops and top brand shops are just around the corner and other exclusive shops are a short walk through a beautifully landscaped park. The Resort Quest Waikiki Joy exceeded our expectations. Our room was much larger than we had anticipated, and was clean. The dining area was small and noisy at the time we visited there but the food was excellent. The hotel was close enough to a large shopping area, several restaurants, and the beach to walk. The staff were not only helpful but very friendly and made us feel welcome. It was definitely a great value for the price and we would stay there again. Score 3 out of 5 Okay Anonymous, Chicago, IL, 2006-07-11 Many shops and dining in the area. The ResortQuest Waikiki Joy was just average. The room was pretty small and the bathroom was dated. We had a problem with the humidity in our room. The air conditioner unit was above the head of the bed. Although the cleaning service came everyday there were inappropriate items under the bed left from previous customers, which was disgusting. We did however, enjoy that the hotel was walking distance from the beach as well as shopping and restaurant areas. The continental breakfast was a nice ammentity at this hotel. Overall our stay was just okay at this hotel. Score 3 out of 5 Close to the action Anonymous, 2006-06-24 If you don't want the free breakfast at the hotel, Moose McGillicuddy's has a $1.99 breakfast early bird special. It is located next door. This hotel is located less than two blocks away from everything: high end shopping such as Tiffany's, discount shopping such as international market place, and the beach. The free breakfast included coffee, orange juice, pineapple juice, fruit, muffins and bagels. The king bed room had a little sofa to watch TV. However, the jacuzzi was a bit old. The pool area was too small; it was more of an after thought. Check out was super fast. Score 5 out of 5 Very friendly to . . . Anonymous, 2006-03-03 The Zoo and Aquarium are worth seeing, and if you walk there, you'll see interesting trees and a beach front view to die for. PICTURES!!! Take pictures. When I arrived, the staff was very friendly, pleaseant, and polite to me and my friend - even though she was not checking in. The staff had answers to all of my questions, and did everthing to fulfill all of my requests. I felt very safe each evening, due to the fact that they had an on duty security guard throughout the nights, and of course, everyone was willing to help with my luggage. The location was literally within walking distance to the beach. Kareoke was next door. Restuarants begining less than half a block away - shops as well. I didn't need a cab for anything (except to get from the airport to the hotel, but even then, if you call ahead, you can get a shuttle). I truly enjoyed my stay at ResortQuest Waikiki Joy Hotel (formerly Aston Waikiki Joy Hotel). I plan on staying there when I visit Hawaii again. What else can you ask for? I mean they even provide a JACUZZI in your room. Score 5 out of 5 Good Hotel Alan, Minneapolis, MN, 2006-02-09 Don't recall the name, but there's an Irish Pub 4-5 doors away toward the beach that was a good place for Breakfast and probably later as well. This was a good hotel a short walk from everything. It shows some wear such as in the elevator but the room I was in was clean, well appointed and a good value. It was a good stay and I would stay there again. Score 5 out of 5 My review of ResortQuest Waikiki Joy Hotel (formerly Aston Waikiki Joy Hotel) Anonymous, Orlando, FL, 2005-12-26 There were several large shopping centers (several stores in 1 building) within a 2-3 block radius of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the room was kept clean. Towels and toilet items were replaced daily. There was a Jaccuzi in the bathroom but water pressure on the 6th floor was not the highest. Our room overlooked the street as did the majority of the rooms. |
