During your Honolulu vacation, don't miss these great establishments and attractions:
Honolulu Sailing Co
This company has been in business for 2 decades, offering a variety of sailing activities. Our favorite is the Diamond Head snorkel-picnic sail on the waves. During whale season (roughly Dec-Apr), check out the half- and full-day adventures to see whales, dolphins, flyingfish,
Dream Cruises
If you aren't lucky enough to be in Hawaii during humpback-whale season (roughly Dec-Apr), you can go dolphin-watching instead. Dream Cruises offers year-round dolphin-watching cruises that check out friendly pods of bottle-nosed and spinner dolphins near Yokahama Bay on the northern end of Oahu. This might be your only chance to get "up-close and personal" with these protected marine mammals. During whale season, the company guarantees that if you don't see whales, you can sail again for free. Departing from the Kewalo Basin is a range of cruises, including a snorkel/splash tour that anchors off Waikiki for snorkeling, swimming, and lunch; and a 2-hour sunset dinner-and-dancing cruise with views of the Waikiki skyline.
West Loch Municipal Golf Course
This par-72, 6,615-yard course located just 30 minutes from Waikiki, in Ewa Beach, offers golfers a challenge at bargain rates. The difficulties on this municipal course are water (lots of hazards), wind (constant trade winds), and narrow fairways. To help you out, the course features a "water" driving range (with a lake) to practice your drives. After a few practice swings on the driving range, you'll be ready to take on this unusual course, designed by Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright. In addition to the driving range, West Loch has practice greens, a pro shop, and a restaurant.

dirty and smelly

rhonda, Clearwater/St Petersburg, FL

The hotel is in a prime location and the decor is quaint, This is why it was such a surprise to have such a filthy smelly room. The room we stayed in was rank of urine and the carpet was pinkish but was sooo dirty I spread towels on the floor to walk on. The bed was comfortable and sheets appeared clean. We would have tried to find another place but it was midnight on newyears eve when we arrived. We asked to see another room. The second room was dirty and smelled of mold a really musty smell. NEVER would I stay here again. Just to clearify we are not snobs we are regular middle class people but please clean goes a long way just replace the carpets or somthing it is amazing that they are able to sell these rooms I suppose the location is enough .

Super Location

Anonymous, Seattle, WA

The International Market Place is not far from the hotel with many vendors.

While the location was super right across the road from Waikiki Beach, the hotel iteself was very small. The entire facility was in "minature". My room faced the inner courtyard which was very noisy with the roar of air condiditioning units and a veiw of a cement wall from the balcony. There was only one elevator which was also in minature and very slow.

Good Location

everything is within a short walking distance to the hotel

Good location, right across from the beach. The rooms are very small and very outdated. There are no amenities, so be prepared to leave the hotel for all of your needs. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Good value, not a place to do any work

Anonymous

The ResortQuest Beachside is in a terrific location directly across from Waikiki, and the hotel staff are great, the room is clean. On the downside, I had no view, with the balcony facing a blank wall. There is no desk or place to work in the room, and no wireless internet or modem connections in the hotel at all, and no business center. There is no dining at the hotel other than the continental breakfast, but there are oodles of restaurants nearby. In general, a good place to stay at a reasonable price if you only plan to sleep there.

Great Location

Joanne, 2007-03-07

There are shops located on both sides of street in both directions. You are in the heart of Waikiki, lots to do within walking distance and of course the beach (free access) across the street. Can watch the sunset every night. Plenty of benches available to sit and watch surfers.

The hotel was located directly across from Waikiki Beach and within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and the zoo. It is an older building but our room was kept clean. Had continental breakfast every morning 7:30-8:30, no restaurant in hotel. The room had a frig which was nice to keep soda and water in. Our room had a balcony but our view was of a wall which was okay. We could look down over the coutyard though. All we had to do was go out the front door for view of the beach. The staff was friendly and very accomodating. Was a great value for the money. Parking is in a nearby parking ramp but there isn't an elevator. If you have trouble with stairs it may not be good unless you have a travel companion who could pick you up at the front door. Shuttles and buses go right by which is handy if that is going to be your mode of transportation. Would definitely stay there again.

Good Location

Larry, San Diego, CA, 2006-11-23

The entire Waikiki area was within short walking distance, & on the beach. Be sure to try Duke's on the Beach!

The ResortQuest Waikiki Beachside Hotel was a great location--just across the street from the beach. Convenient for shopping and walking down the Waikiki "strip". The room was small & dated. The bathroom had been somewhat upgraded. Both could have been cleaned up a bit--ie: dirt across the ceiling and on the wall directly across from the A/C wall unit. The continental breakfast was consistantly the same each day. All the staff were extremely friendly & effecient. We were dissapointed that we were unable to use the pool of the ResortQuest Hotel next door. I think some arraingment could be made between same brand hotels. For the money, we would return.

Condo turned hotel with basic amenities

Anonymous, Washington, DC, 2006-11-08

Lots of tourist shopping and easy access to Wakiki beaches directly across the street. The Honolulu Zoo was 4 blocks away. Short 5 minute drive to Diamond Head.

The hotel was clean <key item> in a good location but did not have resort like amenities. Room was small with rusty A/C grates, cold temperature that could not be adjuysted except turned off. Parking was arranged at another hotel. Their sister hotel 4 blocks away was what I was expecting. I used the tour and restaurant capabilities at the sister hotel because this one was neglible at best. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The view out the window was to a blank wall. If I stayed at a ResortQuest again it would not be this facility.

Good Location, Good Value

Scott, 2006-03-12

The hotel entrance is very hard to find, as it is almost set back from the main street. Call the hotel to get some landmarks.

ResortQuest Waikiki Beachside Hotel is not your Waikiki shining star, but you may be hard pressed to find a better value. If you do not plan to spend much time in the hotel, this is the place for you. The location is great, right across from the beach. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and continental breakfast was complimentary ever morning. The rooms were nothing special and everything seems slightly worn, but nothing was disagreeable.
