Outrigger Reef on the Beach is in the midst of a complete transformation, creating a new resort hotel beyond compare on beautiful Waikiki Beach. The first redesigned guest accommodations will be available in spring 2007. The all-new Ocean Tower opens with 200 rooms and suites, casually sophisticated and much more spacious. Guests enter a sanctuary of warm woods and colors that echo the stunning views from the mountains to the sea. Flat-panel televisions, broadband Internet access, and even whirlpool tubs in select suites offer expected services and pleasing comforts. The Outrigger Reef on the Beach is truly one of the most Hawaiian hotels on world famous Waikiki Beach. Guests are invited to experience daily Hawaiian programs from gentle morning exercise set to hula movements to stringing their very own fresh flower lei. This hotel is adjacent to Waikiki Beach Walk featuring over 40 shops and restaurants. Outrigger Connection (complimentary): High-speed Internet access; Wireless Internet access in lobby; Direct-dial phone calls to U.S. mainland, Canada, Oahu, neighbor islands and toll-free numbers; In-room coffee / tea. The property offers valet parking only with full in and out privileges. Beginning Jan 1 2007, daily parking will be $25 per day. Lobby renovation will begin on September 1, 2006 and continue through August 31, 2007. Effective November 16, 2006, this will be a completely non-smoking property.

The staff was quite good and helpful. The food at the restaurant was okay, but the view of the beach made it much more enjoyable. The wait-staff was delightful. The room was somewhat small, even though we upgraded, and the bathroom was very cramped. The carpet needs to be replaced as do several parts of the bathroom. (the sink was missing much of its exterior surface) Due to constuction in the area, our room was quite noisy even though we were on the 14th floor. The valet service was fine and the parking staff was very pleasant. It was convenient to shopping and dining. One is formal and for your dinning needs, and the other is buffet. Both look out into the ocean and on the side is Diamond Head.We stayed at the Outrigger on the Beachfor seven days. The staff was very accomodating. When we asked for towels, pillows, travelor checks cashed it was done in a friendly matter. We lost our luggage for two days and they gave us toothpaste, toothbrushes and anything else they could help us with they did. We walked everywhere we wanted to, dinning, shoping, ocean front. The pool and spa was very comfortable and enjoyable. They had free renew your wedding vows which was spectacular. It was done in good taste. A professional photographer was also there. The staff did a good job in hiding the noise and mess. The rooms were basic and comfortable, I found the bathroom, although clean was small and featured the 1970's tract housing style. The best part about the Hotel was that the Beach was nice and not a complete zoo like the rest of Waikiki. It was far enough away to achieve this but not far enough to make you feel you were at the outer rim of Mongolia. Score 2 out of 5 Under Construction!! What more can I say? Room service, along with many other amenities, was unavailable. No microwave?!. Had to travel to find a soda machine. Bring your walking shoes and your flippers.The Outrigger Reef on the Beach has a very helpful and knowledgeable staff. They were able to meet our every need. I stayed at this hotel in 1991, and the upgrades they are doing are much needed. The wireless Internet access was very useful. The hospitality room was a great help. It allowed us to freshen up after a long day of shopping before flying out. Walking distance to lots of things and ten steps away from the beach. Highly reccomended. Major designer stores within walking distance - tiffany, prada, louis vitton, etc.The location of the Outrigger cannot be beat if you want to be in heart of Waikiki. The views were spectatular. The beach was awesome, with breathtaking view of Diamond Head. Location overall, is great with lots of things in walking distance - shopping, restaurants, park, etc. The fitness center was really good, even though there is a lot of remodeling going on in the lower level where it is located. We were only at the hotel one night (arrived in the evening, departed on a cruise the next day) so the room itself was adequate. However, we found it to be musty and there were bug traps in the bathroom. We had to crank air conditioning to circulate air so we could sleep - i have asthma and it was not the greatest.
