Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Review Caroline, Fort Lauderdale, FL The hotel was a very nice place to stay; however, we had to upgrade because the room didn't have a microwave or any cooking area where when we thought we would have a kitchen. It was a 20$ + tax upgrade. One of the hotel staff, was very helpful in providing ideas on what we should do in the surrounding area. Walking was not very bad at all. The beach was about 15 minutes away, but the walk was really relaxing. There are no cheap restaurants nearby that showcase local food stylings, but overall, we mostly went the ABC stores which are everywhere, and cooked. The view of the hotel showcased the strips of lights and shopping and was very nice. The pool was never crowded and the staff was always willing to help. However, on the last day, we had to check out late due ot the fact that one of our tours took a little too long, and the staff was not willing to accomodate. Later, I was charged an extra 40$ for who knows what! The hotel is good for its price, but if you can afford better, I would probably go there instead. Score 4 out of 5 ordinary Anonymous, Minneapolis, MN rooms where ok, nothing special, check in was very difficult no place to park and no signage to locate front desk, very difficult for a guest with a car to use.... parking really was very poor (cramped and not enough available) even though you paid $15 per day for the privledge Score 4 out of 5 BIG AND COMFORTABLE CONDO SUITES Anonymous Go have dinner at Keo's, a Thai place! This property looks very non-descript from the outside, but the room we were in was so comfortable, and included a kitchen. We were on the 16th floor with a nice view of the park. The week we were there it seemed liked we were one of the few in the entire place. I particularly enjoyed the location because it is not right in the middle of all the crowds, noise, etc. Walk to the beach may be significant for older and younger folks, but pleasant. Beware of the $18 parking fee a day in the small garage. Also during our stay, my towel was taken by housekeeping and staff was not very responsive in finding or replacing it. Score 4 out of 5 Satisfied with it all! Carol, San Diego, CA Loved the fact that a block away is all the designer stores like Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Coach, you name it! And I really recommend the restaurant Nick's Fish Market just a half block away. It's pretty pricey but the food is an absolute delight as well as our waiter Kris!I was pleased when my boyfriend and I had entered our room. Except we were wondering why we had kitchen knives in our kitchen for when it didn't come with a microwave or a stove.... haha well it didn't matter to us because we weren't planning on cooking anything, we just found that a bit strange.. Although it would've been nice to have something to warm up some leftovers in the middle of the night. Anyway the room was splendid, it was roomy enough for us. Couldn't really complain about anything, except the parking fee was $18 a night. Oh well.. renting a car was worth it though.. Score 5 out of 5 Great place to stay! Anonymous, Madison, WI We enjoyed the hike to Manoa Falls with Hawaiian Islands Eco-Tours and the Atlantis Submarine ride. Check with the Hawaii Travel Network for discounts. Pick up coupon books at the airport and on the street - there are great deals for rides to/from the airport and for attractions. We were very happy with this hotel. The room was large and comfortable, and very clean. The staff was friendly and responded quickly to our requests. The location is ideal - it's close enough to walk easily to the beach and major Waikiki attractions, but it's far away to not hear the noise .The beach area that's down the street from the Luana is less crowded than the beach areas that are closer to the heart of Waikiki, which is a definite plus. We bought some tour packages that included hotel pickups, and some didn't pick up at the Luana but they picked up at hotels that were very close by (2 minute walk). We didn't get an ocean view room, so we had a room that was on the side of the hotel and faced the street, but from the lanai we could see both the mountains and the ocean and it was a great view! This hotel doesn't have stores in the lobby like the other Outriggers, but at checkin we received a coupon book for stores and services at other Outriggers. We didn't need a car - most attractions will pick you up from Waikiki (most for free), even the Ala Moana shopping center and the tours to different parts of the island. But if you want a car for just a couple of days, there's a Dollar Rent-a-car across the street from the Outrigger Luana. Overall we'd definitely recommend the Outrigger Luana - it's a great place to stay and well priced. Score 5 out of 5 convenient and quiet location tracy, Kalamazoo, MI A shoppers paradise location! Every high end store possible a short walk away! Tiffany & Co, Chanel, Max Mari, Fendi, Dolce Gabana, Armani Exchange...and many malls near esp. Al Moana ...Fabulous! Also Macy's and smaller stores as well. The Outrigger Luana Waikiki was in a very convenient location. It is right next to Fort DeRussey Park and within walking distance to both the beach and the major strip (shopping/dining), I especially liked the Eggs & things breakfast dining spot and that Niketown and Banana Republic were a block away. Even though the pool and fitness center were small, we used them everyday and it was convenient to have them right next to each other. Like I said the best thing about the hotel was that was close enough to all the fun and sun, but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing! Score 5 out of 5 Good location and nice hotel Armando, Los Angeles, CA The hotel is a walking distance of malls and shopping centers. Strip bars and also the beach. This is a comfortable hotel with nice view, walking distance for all restarurants, shopping centers and the beach. Has a fridge and kitchen so you can prepare your food. The room design is very hawaiian and there is enough room to walk in. Score 5 out of 5 A Good Hotel Anonymous, Fort Myers, FL, 2006-12-10 International Market Place, Cheesecake Factory, Starbucks, Nike Town and overall shopping. The Outrigger Luana Waikiki is a good hotel but for the price per night. The hotel room was averaged size but very clean. The queen bed was very comfortable and the accomodations were very nice. Overall, I would recommend this hotel because it is close to everything like Nike Town, TGI Fridays is across the street from hotel, the beach and International Market Place is just blocks away. If you forgot to bring some items from home, they have ABC stores on practically every corner. Score 5 out of 5 Great service and clean Alfred, Durham/Raleigh, NC, 2006-09-27 You can find any type of food you want to eat at a short walking distance.
