Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 My review of Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki MARIA, Buffalo, NY I like it. Score 5 out of 5 Good for family Jessica, Kauai Island, HI aquarium, zoo, Waikiki beach, swanky stores, street performersThe room was roomy and had just what we needed for myself, my husband, and our 2 children. Having a mini fridge and a microwave helped us save money since we didn't have to eat breakfast out every morning. We could walk to great places like the zoo and the aquarium really easily. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was the only big disappointment--they have 2 little pools, neither of which had a shallow end or good steps for our 3-year-old to play on, they were both freeeezing, and there was nothing attractive about them. Great location just off waikiki beach, shopping, and attractions. Hotel is dated, rooms dated, small bathroom, but very nice people and an overall good experience. Score 5 out of 5 Support this Inexpensive hotel John, 2007-03-04 Waikiki Beach and the main strip is located only two short blocks away. Enjoy the location of this hotel and the great bargain that it is.I stayed at the Ocean Hotel Resort- Waikiki, in Honolulu, Hawaii, 2 blocks from the famous Waikiki Beach, during the first week of March 2007. I had two twin beds and a balcony with two chairs- good for air-drying your wet swim trunks and other assorted wet beach wear. The hotel had two small pools on the third floor, but most people just walk the two short blocks to the beach. Also, the public bus system (TheBus) is only three blocks away. Plus there is a free Hilo Hattie Trolley, that takes you to their store, and also stops at a couple of other tourist stops. It's Trolley stop is only a block away. You will pay two to three times the amount at a similar hotel, that might be one block closer to the beach. The ice machine is on the third floor, next to the pools. There is a resturant on the first floor, that I ate two breakfasts, one lunch, and two dinners there. Try the local Hawaiian cuisine, there. There are also two gift shops in the lobby area. But you will probably want to check out the local ABC stores, located on every block. The lobby area, also has one concierge to help with local trips. Another concierge to help out the Japenese tourists on their local trips too. And another concierge to exchange money for overseas tourists. The front desk personnel were pretty helpful. When I arrived and checked into my room, I noticed that the Air conditioner (A/C) was not working. I called down to the front desk, and they sent up a Maintenance guy, who replaced the A/C unit immediately. The A/C worked perfectly the rest of my stay. All of Hawaii, is now Non-Smoking for all indoor hotels and the like, so no worries for non-smokers. If you are a smoker, I think that there are designated smoking places for you, on the outdoor areas. The hotel is located two blocks from the main street, that's considered Waikiki Beach. One can walk all along the strip, easily. I walked to the International Market, with no problem. If you want to save your money for souvenirs and food and entertainment, then reserve your room today. And most of all.............aloha!!!!!!!! Score 4 out of 5 Just ask for an ocean view... Anonymous, 2007-02-27 Hulas and Queen's beach, were just around the cornerOur room was on the second floor, facing some shacks by the back side of the hotel. It wasn't a pretty sight. The stay could have been better if we had asked for a room with an ocean view. The locale of the hotel is just a block and a half away from the beach, so it was easy access. Overall, the price was good what the price that we paid. Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2007-02-26 No review provided by user Score 5 out of 5 very inviting, well located LARA, New York, NY, 2007-02-15 Near the Zoo, great for kids. two blocks away from wonderful beaches. so many convenient stores all around. lots of restaurants near by. attractions on the beach, that is watching the sunset or listening to Hawaiian Music or even watching Hawaiian dances. The room was very well kept, I didn't have a view but didn't matter because I was so close from all the main attractions, the beach, downtown Waikiki, near the Zoo... Everything was so close. The only regret is that there was no internet connection in the room, after taking my laptop uselessly, I had to use the public one downstairs and pay for it. But the service was really awesome, will definitely come back, without my laptop though. Score 4 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2007-02-14 No review provided by user Score 5 out of 5 VERY NICE! John, Chicago, IL, 2007-02-12 Short walk to beaches, dining and shopping as well as the Zoo and Aquariumthis was our first stay at this hotel and after reading some of the reviews we were really affraid of what we might have gotten into. We were very happy with the check in process the evening manager was very cordial and they had to upgrade us to a suite becuase of over booked. The room was clean, and very spacious. Housekeeping was very quick when we asked for extra towels or blankets, Parking was a little pricey but the valet had the vehicle there within minutes of asking for it. Overall I would rate our stay as a 10 on a scale of 1-10. GREAT JOB Management and staff! |
