During your Honolulu vacation, don't miss these great establishments and attractions:
USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park
The USS Bowfin is 1 of only 15 World War II submarines still in existence today. You can go below deck of this famous submarine -- nicknamed the "Pearl Harbor Avenger" for its successful attacks on the Japanese -- and see how the 80-man crew lived during wartime (kids love this). The Bowfin Museum has an impressive collection of submarine-related artifacts. The Waterfront Memorial honors submariners lost during World War II. Allow 3 hours to a half-day for a visit.
Mililani Golf Club
This par-72, 6,455-yard public course is home to the Sports Shinko Rainbow Open, where Hawaii's top professionals compete. Located between the Koolau and Waianae mountain ranges on the Leilehua Plateau, this is one of Oahu's most scenic courses, with views of mountains from every hole. Unfortunately, there are also lots of views of trees, especially eucalyptus, Norfolk pine, and coconut palm; it's a lesson in patience to stay on the fairways and away from the trees. The two signature holes, the par-4 number 4 (a classic middle hole with water, flowers, and bunkers) and the par-3 number 12 (a comfortable tee shot over a ravine filled with tropical flowers that jumps to the undulating green with bunkers on each side) are so scenic, you'll forgive the challenges they pose.
U.S. Army Museum
This museum, built in 1909 and used in defense of Honolulu and Pearl Harbor, houses military memorabilia ranging from ancient Hawaiian warfare items to modern-day high-tech munitions. On the upper deck, the Corps of Engineers Pacific Regional Visitors Center shows how the corps works with the civilian community to manage water resources in an island environment. Plan to spend an hour perusing the place.

Inexpensive, yet Durable Hotel

Leo, Long Beach, CA, 2007-03-03

Legends is a great sports bar right next door to the hotel. They have an abundance of TV's with any sporting event you can think of on the screens. I wanted a specific college basketball game on, and they easily found it. Good beer selection and friendly staff complement this quaint sports bar.

Very friendly housekeeping staff is always caring about your needs and your towel supply. Rooms are cozy, a little small, but you are in Honolulu and no one spends time in the rooms. A short walk to the beach and super close to the International Marketplace. Good restaurants around and this hotel is centerly placed in Waikiki. Overall, a great little hotel with a nice price!

The Honolulu Prince is a wonderful place to stay for the money and comfort. The staff are wonderful and right there for u. The accomodations is centrally located to all of your needs. Everything is in walking distance and the nightlife surrounding the hotel is superb. There is plenty of room in the hotel room and the appearance and cleanleness was exceptional great. Plan on staying there again in my future travels to Waikiki.

place to crash-reasonably priced base of operations for kamaainas

randall, Oakland, CA, 2006-02-20

your'e in wacky-wacky so tourist amenities are close by, bus service is good, and info for tourist activities is more than adequate.whatever you want it's within walking distance.

some questions have no answer(need n/a option). the price was right. the bed and shower worked. staff was helpful. good, reasonably priced base of operations for the hawaii knowledgeable independent tourist.i used my room to crash and shower and connect by phone with friends and relatives, so it worked fine.having a safe in the room was nice.noisy, tho.i'm not fussy yuppie style, so a comfortable bed and functioning shower and toilet is o.k. refridgerator was nice too. could use microwave.

Decent Lodging at Good Rate

Anonymous, Huntsville, AL, 2005-11-26

Right by International Market and close to beach.

We found that we got more than our money's worth at this hotel. It is far from fancy, but it is clean, comfortable and centrally located. If budget is your main concern, it is not a bad place to stay a few days at Waikiki.

Horrible, take it off your website

Emil, Los Angeles, CA, 2005-10-02

Starbuck's is right around the corner. The International Market Place is across the street.

The Honolulu Prince Hotel is horrible. It seems it has been converted from an old condominium to a hotel. As we entered the hotel, trash, old furniture, and a run down driveway should have been our first clue. When we went to our room, we found pieces of newspaper scattered in the hallway and the hallway floor was dirty. The Air conditioner was broken and dripped water onto the carpet. The wash towels were neatly fan folded and tucked into the floor towel; however, it was placed at the bottom of the shower stall on top of the floor step. Gross. The water faucet constantly dripped. The water heater was located in the closet and took up most of the space. All the furniture looked old. This reminded me of a skanky motel that you would probably see in a movie. They had no other rooms, so we immediately checked out and went to the Outrigger West Hotel: Heaven!

Review of Aston Honolulu Prince

Anonymous, San Francisco, CA, 2005-08-15

Try to find free parking on Ala Wai Boulevard, which is just at the end of the street. It's worth circling around a few times, otherwise you'll have to pay an arm and a leg everywhere else each day.

Overall my stay at the Aston Honolulu Prince was great. The room was just as I expected, although there was no balcony. Housekeeping was great and the room as well as the entire hotel was very clean. Check in and check out were extremely easy, with no problems whatsoever. I found only a few things I did not like. You are charged $9/day for parking, and parking is very limited. I was on the waiting list the entire week of my trip and not once got to park at the hotel. There also was no pool or microwave available. Other than that I found the hotel to be great. It was right across the street from the International Market and all the shops, including Waikik beach, which was extremely convenient.
