When I first went into my room, I found an empty pizza box under the bed and the rug had a dead roach on it. I called my dad who was also staying at the hotel. He contacted the front desk and someone went to take care of the problems. My grandfather and grandmother came to visit with me and were shocked by the condition of the room. The hotel is presently being renovated and I believe the owner is under a deadline. Score 3 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2007-03-13 The Naniloa is being renovated. I would not recomend this motel to anyone, and the pepole that cleaned did not do a very good job in cleaning, also had to go and ask for cups and coffee to be sent to the room because it was not left when they cleaned. The outside appearance is beautiful, they do a very good job in keeping it up. Score 2 out of 5 My review of Naniloa Volcanoes Resort Anonymous, 2006-11-29 The view from the top floor was good. You need to ask for the top floor. This hotel was average at best. The air condition didn't work and so I didn't get much sleep. The hotel is old but the staff was efficient and it was clean. Score 4 out of 5 one nite stay ANDREW, Mobile, AL, 2006-10-23 hotel was on banyan dr. which was very scenic. japanese garden and golf course close byonly stayed one night. basically only slept there. was gone all day. did not get a chance to enjoy the hotel amenities. very friendly staff. views were great. tv was broken and did not work properly. Score 2 out of 5 Needs updating Deb, 2006-09-30 There aren't any chain restaurants like Olive Garden or TGI Fridays. There are chain fast food places - McDonalds, Subway, KFC - and lots of little hole in the wall local places to eat that are fun to experiment with. Kens is a great place. While the location is fabulous, as are the views, the hotel itself is definitely in need of help. The carpet throughout the hotel is very faded and old. The bed was pretty firm, but I like firm. The AC worked great, but the actual ventilation and unit are encased by not so pretty wood paneling and an old painted ventilation shaft in the bathroom area. The fixtures in the bathroom are old too. To give you an idea about the hotel - you use actual keys and not key cards....so it's very old school. The restaurant in the hotel is pretty pricey, so I didn't eat there. The hotel has a new owner and is supposed to be renovated. The room was clean though and I kept the AC up to compensate for the humidity and it worked great. It was an ok place to sleep, but was a bit on the expensive side for what you get I think. Score 2 out of 5 Under new Management Curtis, Durham/Raleigh, NC, 2006-03-21 A pancake house is near by with a lot of other menues available but has a small parking lot. A nice place to eat is next to the hotel with nightly entertainment. A park is located within walking distance. At the time I visited, this hotel was under new management and a lot of the hotel's amenties were closed. Only buffett meal served at breakfast for $12.00 and a limited selection. No dinner meal served. The carpets are worn out, elevators were dirty, no cocktail lounge available so I had to go to another hotel for an evening beer or wine. This could be an excellent hotel if management would spend some money for repairs and updating the rooms including the springy beds. No high speed internet available for hotel guests and local calls were $1.00. The water preassure for showers were great, the best thing about the hotel. Location was great, view of the harbor and nice parking. Score 4 out of 5 Review Gary, Indianapolis, IN, 2006-03-17 No review provided by user |
