The rooms are run down and dirty with stained carpets and doors that fail to open. Not worth the money. Score 5 out of 5 Romantic Weekend Mike, 2006-07-04 Ask for a room in the main building on the first floor. These rooms have sliding doors and patios that overlook the main swimming pool area. Room service was excellent and very timely. The Red Lion Sacramento Inn is a Sacramento Classic. Very comfortable rooms for a reasonable price in a safe environment. Perfectly located near the Arden Fair Mall and too many restaurants to mention. Our room was situated facing the main swimming pool area, with easy access to the main lobby, lounge & restaurants and the gift shop. My fiance and I enjoyed our visit very, very much. Score 1 out of 5 Not Worth the Money Anonymous, Burbank, CA, 2006-03-27 The Red Lion Sacramento was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. The furnishings in the room were old, dingy, and many things needed fixing (e.g. desk lamps, thermostat). My bathroom window was broken and had to be closed from the outside. I had a 1st floor room that was a few feet away from the parking lot. Since my bathroom window didn't close completely, I could hear nearby traffic and pedestrians. As a woman travelling alone, I did not feel very safe. The green carpet was brown with years of ground in dirt. The bathroom tile was a dingy brown that didn't look particularly clean. The light above the drink vending machine was broken, and it was a bit scary to go out at night for a Diet Coke. This hotel needs some serious upgrading and remodeling, but the staff was friendly. Score 1 out of 5 Are you kidding Anonymous, Oakland, CA, 2005-10-08 They sent me to a room that had guests in it. I opened the door, it was about 11pm, and a man jumped out of the bed. That was shocking to me, and to their guest who had already checked into the room. The parking lot was a mess, there was construction, and yellow tape everywhere, it was very difficult to figure out how to drive through their parking lot. I stayed there because it was more expensive than other hotels, so I thought it would be a nicer, more relaxing place to stay. I was tense and uneasy the entire night because of the mess up, and the difficult surroundings. Score 4 out of 5 Review of Red Lion Hotel Anonymous, 2005-07-08 Red Lion Hotel was very comfortable. The room was the correct size- not too big and not too small. The location was very good--it was close to where I need to go for business. The only problem I encountered was there was no place to get ice cubes. I have to go to the main lobby-restaurant to get some ice. The price will keep me going back to this location in the future. |
