Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Review Philip No review provided by user Score 5 out of 5 Good Value Anonymous The Maui Coast Hotel is a well-kept property with nearly complete amenties [nice rooms, great pool/spa with associated bar, restaurant and bar, concierge, gift shop]. It's a short walk to the beach across the street [ a small park along Kehei Rd. provides easy access and there is a life guard present]. My room was generously proportioned and included a king-sized bed, a desk and chair, a sitting area with couch, coffee table, and two chairs, and a wet bar off the entry. The furniture is pretty basic in style, but adequate. It also had a large mirrored-door closet. The view out the large sliding glass door to the balcony wasn't a classic, but it wasn't a back alley either; it was adequate. Service was friendly and efficient. There was a small shopping center a couple of blocks away. Overall, it was quite serviceable. Score 4 out of 5 Musty Odor in Room Jesse, Oakland, CA, 2007-03-10 The Maui Coast Hotel has excellent curb appeal, with courteous check-in staff in a very nicely decorated lobby and reception area. Parking is well lighted, and close to your entrance of choice. However, there are a few trees in the parking lot where the native birds roost, and when you return to your car in the morning you will find it well decorated! The elevators are very slow, but they are usually available. Upon entering my room each time I was returned from being out, I would just about reel from the musty odor. They have neglected to put in an exhaust fan, and it appears that they have not replaced the carpet in many years. I used an entire large bottle of Fabreze that helped for a short time, but the odor would be back the next time I was away! I will probably give them another chance, but if the next time is a repeat, not again! Score 5 out of 5 very chic small hotel katherine, 2007-03-10 There is a little coffee stand down about two blocks with the best lattes and home made muffins. The Maui Coast Hotel was a small, very friendly very well designed hotel, centrally located on the south shore of Maui in Kehei. The price was great maybe because it is across the street from the beach. You're not locked in as you are in a resort hotel so you really get the feel of the locale in which you are staying. Everything is in walking distance, beaches, restaurants and shops. The room was large with a lanai and an ocean view. The bathroom was a great size and had a whirlpoll tub. The pool area was great for hanging out in after being at the beach or shopping. The pool bar was really great, food wise and every night they have a musician or one night they had a hula dancer. The lobby is very elegant. We loved it!!! Score 4 out of 5 Good Anonymous, Oakland, CA, 2007-02-19 Beach locate across the street from the hotel was a highlight. The Maui Coast Hotel was pleasant and located midway on Kihei road near condo timeshare properties. The area was nice and not as crowded as other hotels areas along Kihei road. Score 5 out of 5 Review Thomas, San Francisco, CA, 2007-02-17 No review provided by user Score 3 out of 5 The best part was the pool Anonymous, Los Angeles, CA, 2007-02-12 The Maui Coast hotel was alright. The best part of the hotel was the pool because they had nightly music and they had the bar right there as well as being able to order food all while your relaxing by the pool. The rooms where nothing special, no view whats so ever but we weren't there to hang out in the room so it wasn't such a big deal. Room service was awful! They got part of our order wrong, gave us the wrong total and the food was horrible and we didn't finish any of it. The icing on the cake is that it was breakfast and we only ordered pancakes and a parfait and some orange juice and that was dissapointing since you pay extra for the luxury of room service. The location was a definate plus though because it was seconds from shopping, the beach/park, and plenty of restaurants. I'm not sure if I would stay here again though, I will possibly try out one of the neiboring hotel/condos Score 4 out of 5 Great Value Anonymous, 2007-02-11 The Beach is righ across the street. The price was good and the hotel room was really nice. It was a lot more than I expected. Score 2 out of 5 way over priced for location and convinence Billi, 2007-02-10 No Ice was avalible with a 8 oz water costing 2 dollars from the vending machine 2 floors down. the staff that was avalible tried to accomidate as much as possible but they, also were in need of options. Score 5 out of 5 Quietly correct Anonymous, 2007-02-07 Cafe O Lei is just a few blocks and the food is great. Expect to wait for a tableThe hotel was unobtrusively correct, the way a hotel should be. They just took care of things and we never really knew anyone else was there. Things were just handled. Lovely pool area and beautiful lobby. Maui is magic. |
