Great bang for the buck

I just stayed in this hotel and it was still in it's last phase of remodel. The remodel didn't interfere with our vacation at all. The lobby and room decor was modern and trendy. The rooms are bit on the smaller side (ie. the room we stayed in would be for a couple only, no kids). It didn't bother me since we were out and about all day anyways. The hotel staff was nice and very responsive to my needs. Their parking lot is on the smaller side and when a space came up, a note was immediately placed under my doors stating that a spot was waiting for me. A complaint about a slow draining shower was promptly repaired. If you are not planning to stay in your room and just need a nice, clean, and cheap hotel...this is your place. I would go back there again based on my first visit there.

Great Hotel for First time to Hawaii

Restaurant called Keoni do the block has wonderful breakfast foods and an inexpensive price.

This was my first visit to Hawaii. I went as a single and no one made me feel intimidated by this fact. Everything that I needed was within walking distance. Which was right up my alley since I love to walk. There was no need for transportation. Eventhough the hotel did not have a restaurant attached to it again all restaurants were within walking distance. I did not mind that the room was small. I never that before I went. The room served its purpose. I did not go to Hawaii to spend time in the room. I went to be out and about. I loved the view from my room. I could see other sister hotels as well as the mountain side which was beautiful. The bed was extremely comfortable. I usually have a hard time sleeping on other beds however, I had no problem falling fast asleep. And I could even sleep with the window and patio door open. It was a moderate temperature all night long. There was plenty of space for my clothes and the room had a microwave, small refrigerator and a coffee maker. I was very delighted. They also used a hotel brand lotion, body scrub, shampoo and conditioner which was native to Hawaii.

The Aqua Aloha provided a very small room with 2 twin beds when I checked in.Location was okay, only 5 blocks from Waikiki beach.

close to the beach ( less than a 5 minute walk)

Rooms are small, but that was ok because we were only there to sleep.

Not far from the beach and shopping areas. The walls are paper thin, I could hear the other room's tv blaring and they could hear my radio. Other than that, not bad at all.

The hotel is close to everywhere.

The staffs was very responsive,first of four nights we stayed in very small room, however the last night we got upgrade to better room but the room had some smell and we told the receptionist, she told housekeeper to take care of that problem. This is very busy hotel and all nice people stayed in here.

There are free daily hula shows on Waikiki Beach in the evening around 630pm.

The staff at Aqua Aloha Surf are very helpful. They were very accomodating and friendly, displaying the true "aloha" spirit. The rooms were small but clean and comfortable, a great value. Its location was the best, a quick walk to Waikiki beach and surrounding areas. The massage/spa was great as well. Again staff was friendly and massage was excellent!
