Most recent user reviewsScore 3 out of 5 Review Anonymous Staying in Kahului was good because you are in the middle of the island, if you want to go to Kanapali or Lahaina it is a short distance away as well as if you want to do the road to Hana it was nice to just go one or the other. There's a mall across the street which makes it vary covenient.Score 4 out of 5 Very good value Michael, Omaha, NE There are many good places to eat in the food court and two restaurants with outside access. The Maui Beach Hotel was very adequate for our two night stay. It was very easy to find from the airport. Although the room was small (2 double beds)it had been recently remodeled and was clean. The hotel staff was very helpful. They brought us extra towels and pillows upon request. The location has great access to Maui's largest shopping center (less than 1 block away). The hotel restaurant was alright but they're setup mostly for buffet dining. The food was good but the price of the buffet was somewhat expensive if you don't eat alot. Score 5 out of 5 Great Location Anonymous, Seattle, WA Huge shopping mall was right across the street. Many stores and eating areas. This hotel had a great location. It was family friendly. We would stay there again. And of course recommend to friends and family. Score 4 out of 5 Maui Beach Hotel Anonymous, Oakland, CA, 2007-02-28 The maui mall is practically right across from the hotel. So there is good shopping.Apparently, the hotel is still being renovated. The room was quite small and the mattress on the bed seemed very old and uncomfortable. The bathroom was tiny and consisted of a stall shower and a toilet. (There was barely room to turn around.) Also, the stall shower was very small as well. The sink was in the vanity area outside the tiny bathroom. The vanity area was quite adequate. The closet space was suitable. The best thing this room had going for it was the fact that it was located upstairs where we actually had a view of the ocean. All meals were buffet style and very costly. The only meal that we thought was reasonable was the breakfast buffet. It was quite good and had an excellent array of tasty foods. This hotel is away from all activities and the beaches. It is also near the airport and we heard the planes until quite late in the evening. Fortunately, we had the rental car. Access into and out of the parking lot was a problem during high traffic. There were no traffic signals. In the afternoon, it was impossible to get into the lot unless we go past the hotel and do a U-turn.The side of the island where this hotel is located gets the strong afternoon trade winds that can practically knock you over. Score 2 out of 5 My review of Maui Beach Hotel Anonymous, 2007-02-19 Hotel was very old..Room was ok, but the air conditioner was very noisy. Check lady did not have the Aloha spirit. Score 5 out of 5 Good value for a Hotel on Maui Kelly, 2007-02-15 The farmers market sets up in the mall across the street (you have to check to see which days), so make sure you get in on Da Kine fresh fruit. The Maui Beach Hotel exceeded my expectations, as I have stayed at the neighboring hotel on a previous trip and the thought it would be much of the same, but it was far better. The location is very industrial, airport is a stones toss away and there is a mall right across the street. The room was nothing fancy, but very comfortable and clean, bathrooms were small, stall shower, no tub with a separate vanity. The hotel even hosts a Luau three times a week. This is not a mega resort, nor is it located in the popular resort areas, it is a conveniently located hotel that would be great for a team or business meetings, or a nice place to wait if your condo wont be ready for another day or two. Overall the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. Score 3 out of 5 good Location Anonymous, Pensacola, FL, 2007-02-09 Quick drive from the airport.Hotel was in a suitable location for our overnight needs. Room was clean. Staff not very friendly. Needed extra towels and light bulbs in the lamps. Compared with other rates, it was ok for a night stay. Would not redcommend as a destination hotel, but an overnight is ok. Score 2 out of 5 My review of Maui Beach Hotel Anonymous, Oakland, CA, 2007-02-06 Mall is right across the street and has a food court which should be avoided at all costAdequate for a very short stay - not very comfortable - kinda smelly. Score 4 out of 5 Hotel Check-in Anonymous, 2007-02-03 The hotel's location could have been better signed (easier to find at night with the palm trees lit up)- and the check-in person could have been friendly. The grounds and restaurant were lovely - would probably return. There were also other restaurants and stores nearby. Score 4 out of 5 good place for one night stop over Anonymous, Fairbanks, AK, 2006-12-28 |
