Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 Bring your own extras Mary Food in restaurant is passable.Aked for extra blankets and pillows, there were none available. Towels were very small and nonasorbent. I travel every month and have never had to go buy an extra pillow and blanket becuase the hotel did not have any. Score 1 out of 5 Hotel Stinks Anonymous, Cincinnati, OH, 2006-10-01 Food at Shoney's not the greatest....My family and I stayed at this hotel for two nights, as my daughter was part of the band competition going on locally. Here are a few things that noted. When my wife flushed the toilet, green stuff came out in the bowl. The towels were always wet. The room smelled like mold. I could go on and on. I mentioned it to the front desk, they gave choice of moving to different room, or live with it. I am so disappointed with this hotel which goes under the (Howard Johnsons) name, that I am also contacting Howard Johnsons and asking them to complete a no notice spot check. I believe they will find the same problems. I would say the room is nice and it was great to have a iron and board in the room. I would like to see the electric sockets for the coffee maker repaired it could be a fire hazard. There are several places for dining within a mile of the motel. 2. The location is right at the interstate access which makes it easy to get in and out.My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Howard Johnson Express. It is one of the few motels that we have stayed in that didn't have a Motelroom Odor. However, we did encounter two minor problems during our two-day stay. After check-in, we were unable to enter the building through the outside access. We reported this to the Manager and she took care of the problem. Then, when we returned for our second night's stay, our key wouldn't work in the door. Once again, the Manager rekeyed our cards. One problem that the managment has little or no control over is the access to the main thoroughfare. It is virtually impossible to get out of the parking area and turn left during normal hour because of teh heavy traffic and no signal lights.
