HALF THE LIGHTS DIDN'T WORK IN MY ROOM AND WHEN I INFORMED THE HOTEL STAFF I WAS TOLD TO GO DOWN AND GET LIGHBULBS AND DO IT MYSELF. THE LIGHTS STILL DIDN'T WORK. I HAD TO GO DOWN THE NEXT DAY AND ASK FOR KLENEX AND THE DAY AFTER THAT TO GET TOLIET PAPER. IT SEEMED AS IF I WAS DOING ALL THE WORK. ALSO, BEFORE MY BATH I WANTED TO SMOKE A CIGGERETTE. I REALIZED THAT THE AIRPORT TOOK MY LIGHTER SO I WENT DOWN IN MY ROBE TO GET MATCHES. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE HOTEL DIDN'T HAVE MATCHES. I HAD TO STOP MY BATH AND GET DRESSED AND WALK TO ANOTHER HOTEL TO GET MATCHES. IT WAS EXTREMELY INCONVIENIENT. Score 2 out of 5 My review of Best Western Hotel & Suites Airport South Barry, Dallas, TX Because of airline delasys, did not arrive till after 1:30 a.m. and had to leave by 7 a.m. so review is somewhat limited. However, I could not make the shower work. When I mentioned it to the clerk on check-out she showed me a very well-worn laminated copy of a user manual for the shower that explained how it worked. Never having seen anything like it before and being in a great rush to get ready, I had not called from the room while getting dressed, but if the problem is so common that they have a laminated copy ofthe instructions at the front desk, they should be posted in every room. I'm an engineer by training and cannot remember ever being unable to figureout how a simple mechanical device worked!!! No restaurant, shopping nothing.The Best Western, College Park, was a very nice hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. This was just an overnight stay. It was alot of fun and tasty too!Convenient with excellent shuttle service to/from airport and restaurants, etc. Our suite was spacious and comfortable. Excellent bed! Very clean. We learned it's important to check more than once with night desk staff about morning shuttle service to get accurate, understandable and pertinent information, however. The Breakfast room was well stocked, we enjoyed eating there. I would suggest however that management keep a better eye on the staff. At check-in the woman at the desk had been talking and continued to talk to a male friend on her "walkie-talkie" type phone, quite loudly the entire time. She was courteous to us but I found this unprofessional. Also, my daughter forgot her workout wear in the bathroom and when we called the hotel the next day "no one had found it". Um, yeah. Best Western has a nice facility in Atlanta but the staff could use some training. It is a very old hotel and the rooms have a musty smell to them. The sheets weren't clean and they lacked that crisp clean feeling that you usually feel when sleeping in a hotel. Initially the receptionist gave me the wrong room key and I walked into the wrong hotel, with someone else's things all over the place. Thankfully they were not there and that my husband and I are honest people. You basically get what you pay for here. |
