Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Hotel ok for short stay Anonymous Busch Gardens is just two miles from Hotel and the Hotel does offer a free shuttle. Again, make sure you leave yourself enought time. Suttle was to leave at 11:00 and was 1/2 hour late. Called hotel for pick up and had to wait awhile.Hotel was chosen for location and was told that the areas visiting would be easy to get to. However, we discovered once we arrived that it was not easy to get a cab. From hotel to a location 15 minutes away we had probelems with drivers not wanting to bring you back. If staying in this area, you should rent a car. Shuttle is offered from airport to hotel. However, you need to make arrangements in advance, for you may be waiting awhile. Room had musty smell and needs updated. Lamps were rusted at base. Hotel water is an issue. Would suggest not to have a room near the pool area. Very noisy and loud music until late at night. Hard to sleep. Staff was attentive. Stayed three evenings and if had to do over again we would not have chosen this hotel. Score 2 out of 5 Nice pool Anonymous It is literally in walking distance of a very nice mall, many places to eat, and Busch Gardens. It seems as though the hotel spent most of their money and time on landscaping and the pool as oppose to guest room up keep. Our room was less then clean from check in and we were consistantly left without towels, toilet paper, ect. during the week we stayed there. Also, the hotel appearently lends its parking lot to truckers at night because we were regularly woken up by beaming lights and loud engines. The hotel was, however, in a great location right near Busch Gardens and tons of recreational activities. The hotel also had a beautiful heated pool. Score 4 out of 5 great four family and kids robert shopping' dinning, food' parksThe Clarion was verry nice after we got in another room. there was tracker and trailer's that keep us up all night. after talking to yhr front desk we had poolside and it was great. it is within mintins of everthing if you have kid thr pool is must. Score 1 out of 5 Filthy paul, 2007-03-03 The rug was sticky & there was trash in the waste basket. We had a very late check in and the desired room was not available. The desk attendant who checked us in was very gracious any way and gave us coupons for a free breakfast. We didn't use any thing other than the bed and the bathroom. Score 1 out of 5 Bad experience Anonymous, 2007-02-24 busch gardensSome of the employees there were very nice, and tried very hard to please. Other employees were indifferent. There were so many things wrong, its hard to know where to begin...The hotel failed to mention on the website that they stop running the free airport shuttle at 9:30pm. I think that is ridiculous. Our flight arrived at 11:00, and was a full flight. I hardly think that flying at this time of day is unusual anymore... We get to the airport and call for our free shuttle. they tell me they dont run anymore for the day. The cab ride to the hotel cost us $38 plus tip...I complained when I got to the hotel. They refused to take this amount of my bill, instead gave us some free breakfast vouchers at their nasty breakfast buffet. Even the packaged cereal seemed stale. The eggs and bacon were atrocious. The coffee tasted like it was from a gas station. Despite asking 3 times for our room to be made up, the maids never made it up for the duration of our 3 night stay! We had to keep asking for towels at least. The telephone in the room didnt work right, it kept fading in and out, plus the function buttons to call various parts of the hotel didnt work! The drain in tub was rusty. One of the lamps didnt work in the room. When you opened the front door, the door bangs into the dresser. The bathroom was very tiny. The dining options close by were a couple of worn out, scummy TGI Fridays, and a Chillis. Fridays had dirty plates and silverware, Chilis had gross margaritas that weren't fit to drink. They were weak, and tasted disgusting. We had to ask twice to get somebody to take us on the free busch gardens shuttle that they advertise. I must say that the driver was very nice, friendly, and hard working and acted like a professional hospitatlity employee. Don't know her name, but she was a slender black lady. The only redeeming feature was that the pool at the hotel was nice. No hot-tub though. It felt like I was staying in a foregin hotel or something, not an American hotel. Score 1 out of 5 poor service Anonymous, Providence, RI, 2007-02-23 Close to many interesting things.I stayed 4 nights and each night had NO wash cloths or bath towels. I can see them making a mistake once but FOUR times. I called room service each time and was told they would send someone right away. 45 minutes later I went to the front desk myself EACH time. TERRIBLE service !!! I will never stay there again. Score 4 out of 5 Nice Stay Anonymous, 2007-02-21 TGIFridays in same parking lot. Lots of close restaurants.THe room was clean upon entering and all the linens/pillows/blankets were appropriate for our needs. We didn't use any of the amenities. The clerk upon check in had a very strong accent and was hard to understand. He seemed to get VERY frustrated and short with him when I asked him to repeat himself. Score 1 out of 5 over-priced dive ROBERT, 2007-02-06 no in-room internet no fox news channel old and in need of major renovation Score 5 out of 5 Review deborah, Syracuse, NY, 2006-12-12 No review provided by user Score 1 out of 5 Worst time ever Mindy, Salt Lake City, UT, 2006-11-23 There was a mall and many dining places around us.In check in we had a problem with the parking and they slow to respond to help. Then they where redoing many parts of the hotel. We where on the second floor with no elevator. We need to wash our clothes, they had coin operated washers. But we did not know that you had to buy the soap from the front desk. There where two building we were staying the one away from the main building. So I ran over to the main desk, waiting in line for some time, and then told thy where out of soap and had been for almost two weeks. I found this out about 20 minutes later when they finaling paged housekeeping and got them to respond. We had stayed out late our second night there and they start the working (banging and yelling) to re-do the room next to ours. This started about 7:45 in the morning. Then if you where not out of your room by 9:30 then you didn't get housekeeping. I called many times about getting clean towels and it took about three times calling and a good 2 hours to get 1 washcloth and 2 towels. I talked to the manger about the problems and he seemd not to care at all. So No I will never stay at a Clairion and I will tell anyone that I know not to stay there! |
