Crystal, 2006-08-06 When we pulled up, it was a dirty place. I went in and asked to see the room before I checked in. The stairs up to the second floor was filthy with garbage water and stunk like a garbage dumpster was permanently planted there. When you reached the second floor, the carpet was ripped up and just as badly stained as the stairs. The room itself had holes in the walls and stank like cigarette smoke. They have their non smoking rooms right above their smoking rooms! I went back to the manager and said I would not be staying here. The continental breakfast could use some work though. My room was nicely appointed and the housekeeping staff kept the room spotless. Anonymous, Tampa, FL, 2006-04-09 There are several restaurants very close by, such as the Melting Pot, Cracker Barrel, and Shoney's.This Howard Johnson's was both comfortable and convenient. The room was a good size and the bed was quite comfortable. A table, chairs and reliable wireless internet access made it easy to keep up with both business and school work. I would definitely stay there again!
