The girl at the front desk that handled our check-in was not helpful at all and not the least bit friendly. The water pressure in the shower almost completely stopped except for a few drops when the room next door used the water. I would never stay there again nor recommend it to anyone. The location was ok, on a fairly busy street.The room was on the second floor, no elevator, so I had to walk up the stairs with the baggage: older people or people with disabilities might not feel so comfortable about having to do that. Important to ask for a first floor room. They gave me some great ideas of where i should eat and what I should do on my first trip to St. Augustine. The hotel was beautiful and the room was very nice. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the St. Augustine area. Once again thank you to all involved with the Alhambra. The hotel is located in excellent proximity to everything in St. Augustine, including the beach. We thought for the quality the price was too much. It was old and you could see that the moment you entered the apartment. The soda machines we not working (office did give us two free ones) but had to walk a block to get to office. The hot tub which was (heavily advertized) was not working and not warned that the water in it was about 130 deg f. We would not stay in that hotel again especially when there is a multitude of others available. |
