This hotel is dirty and needs a lot of work - very nasty! Had a hard time spending the night after seeing bugs in the room.

Helpful staff

nancy, 2007-03-13

Just a few blocks from hotel by car was an area with shops and nice restaurants, before that was an area with a restaurant and coffee shop to sit out and enjoy the weather. A must JungleQueen, and Airboat ride.

The Paradise Beach Resort would be a much nicer if it had a face lift. The grounds are like a resort, but when you go inside it needs some TLC. The people that work there couldn't have been more helpful and caring. The staff suggested we move up one floor to a suite where it wasn't so noisy. The next 3 nights were much better. Had I known that for $20.00 more a night I could have started there I would have appreciated it. The location was good, and we felt safe there. Only used to restaurant at the hotel for dessert, so can't comment on it. I would say it seemed quite expensive!

Property run down, but great location

J Bruce, 2007-03-13

Breakfast restaurants are a 1/2 mile walk North or South. We preferred the restaurant to the south in the shopping plaza. Very enjoyable and comfortable outside dining.

The other reviews you'll see written about this property are reasonably accurate if not somewhat picky at times. The hotel does have the perfect location. It is directly on the gorgeous beach in Pompano. The hotel itself is run down and old. A little paint would make a big difference. Our room had a tear in the carpet and the bathroom had stains from plumbing leaks in the tub. Who really cares? The bed was comfortable and the maids changed it every day. The room was comfortable too and reasonably quiet. The hotel staff was very friendly. Great greek restaurant in this property called Milo's. Food was excellent. I had the small tomato salad a number of times, and it filled my wife and I up. The Spinach pie is worth a trip a too. The pool area and hot tub are pretty and in better overall condition than the rest of the property. Here's the $M question. Would we go back? Absolutely...this property was a great value based on its location, location, location!.

Great Location

Claire, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 2007-02-10

There's a great place for seafood called seawatch about a mile or so down the street from the hotel. It's right on the beach and they have some of the best seafood dishes in South Florida. The average dinner prices are around $25 for an entree, a little more pricey then I normally would pay but it's worth it!

The Paradise Beach Resort was right on the beach, our room overlooked the pool and had a little balcony. The rooms seemed a little old and run down but it gave the room a home like feeling. The room had a little kitchen area with a refrigerator that you can use and a stove, which is nice for long stays. The lounge seemed nice, I didn't eat there but I got a pina coloda that was very good. The pool was big and seemed to be clean. Overall the experience was good I would stay there again anytime.

Great Beach Access

Geoffrey, Boston, MA, 2006-12-12

A terific little restaurant serving reasonably priced breakfasts was located a short two block walk away. The waitress were friendly and efficient. They also have excellant pizza !

The Paradise Beach Resort was located right on the beach giving easy access to a private sandy beach and refreshing ocean waves. All in all very relaxing.

Never Again

Anonymous, 2006-11-26

The only positive experience was the fact that the location was next door to the party we were visiting in Pompano Beach. The hotel is somewhat in disrepair, which gave us a very uncomfortable feeling. In addition, when we returned the same evening to retire, there was a very loud party in progress in the lower lounge. Music blared which we heard on our floor. We also understand that the hotel is slated for demolition so that a newer high rise building could be erected. The only thing worth the price was the location. But our stay was not for that purpose. Had we known what we would be staying at, we wouldn't have!

Great view

Anonymous, Boston, MA, 2006-11-14

A car is definately needed, but you're on a main road and there's stores and restaurants of all types along there, with the beach all along the other side. Jungle Queen was fun and informative. Within about a 5 to 20 minute drive there were tons of things to find to do. We just weren't there long enough to do them!

Pool was great. Beach was right there and plenty of chairs and things to rent. Tiki bar was great but not open at night. Restaurant food was good but expensive. Better restaurants in the area, but this was also convenient. Service was very slow also. Rooms were clean. Fresh paint has been put on walls, etc., but you can tell they're just waiting to tear it down which is a shame...it's nice to still find a smaller family hotel that's nice without going to a high rise resort. All in all a good value to be right on the beach and enjoy the pool. Otherwise, I probably would head more south into Ft. Lauderdale and more convenient.

Horrible amenities

Paul, 2006-11-13

The hotel has a great location right on the beach, but the quality of the service at the hotel was horrible. I travel for business extensively and this is the first hotel I have been in that didn't have a neighborhood directory for dining options, hotel services, TV channels or anything. When we called the front desk they said they could answer any questions we have, but they hotel didn't offer a directory. I went for a wedding and had to sign out a broken iron from the front desk because they don't offer irons in the individual rooms. There is a restaurant in the hotel but they don't offer room service, and there isn't a direct line you can call or even a menu available in the room. The paint was chipping in the room and several of the lights in the room were either broken or the bulb had blown. This hotel is on my "NEVER AGAIN" list.
