Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 Poor appointments...surly staff Mike, West Palm Beach, FL There are enough choices of places to eat, a few of them are first-class.Our bed , the "queen-sized bed" was little more than a double bed. We werwe told that it was a "commercial-queen". an entirely new excuse, The hotel mgr.--who was pleasant-- did her best to accomodate us...and found us another rm. for the remaining two nights...The 1st night was a nightmare for my g/f who suffers from stenosis & was in pain in the AM from the very small bed and the overaged mattress.....The "workout rm. was inadequate...The card system to open the front door and the rm. door WAS OFTEN FAULTY AND REQUIRED FREQUENT TRIPS TO THE OTHER BLDG.....ONLY TO BE GREETED BY AN OFTEN INDIFFERENT, DISTANT STAFF OF SURLY VERY YOUNG WOMEN....There are no possibilities of eating there....nor did we receive the correct nos. of utensils....In all, we were totally unhappy with the overpriced, amateurish service and accomodations...Thank Goodness for the hotel mgr!! This experience was the worst of my long experience and that of my g/f's. Score 5 out of 5 Wonderful Hotel with awsome view of the ocean! sally, 2007-02-12 The Cove at Ormond Beach was one of the nicest places I've ever stayed! Right on Ormond Beach close to Daytona Beach but not so crowded. Almost like having my own private beach. Room was very nice, clean and the building well maintained. The pool was great to lay out near and the water was clean and warm. Lots of great restaurants near by. The Charlie Horse Saloon and all the crab legs you can eat was so good, I went there twice! Shopping in the area is great with lots of selections for take home gifts. I hope to return to this hotel many times in the next vacations I plan to Florida. Score 5 out of 5 Nice location vicki, 2006-10-09 Julians, I HOP & othersWe had a 2 bedroom condo. It was spacious and clean. The plasma TV's in each room were outstanding. They provide complimentary beach chairs with umbrellas and beach towels which was an added plus. The kitchen area was well furnished. The desk staff were often away from the desk or on the phone. The pool is under construction which was a draw back but it will be nice when completed. We were allowed to use the pool next door. Score 4 out of 5 Good value carol, Portland, OR, 2006-04-15 Ormond Beach is part of Daytona and it's miles of condos, hotels and tacky stores. The Cove is at the north end of the strip where it is less congested, but everything is a drive away.We were meeting friends, so we picked The Cove on Ormond Beach for it's proximity to our friends condo. We had planned to spend most of our time away from the property, so having the pool closed for repairs wasn't an issue for us. I was disappointed to find the building next door under construction and it was a bit noisy in the morning. This new building is part of The Cove complex and appears to be much nicer facility than the current one. The staff at The Cove was outstanding. They were very apologetic about the construction and had made arrangements for guests to use the pools at adjacent hotels. The Cove is a timeshare. We were contacted our first day to participate in the usual timeshare sales pitch. This was the only time we were asked and it was very low pressure. We declined and were never approached again! The rooms very clean and the beds and furniture comfortable. The room decor was very nice and you didn't feel like your were in a hotel room. My biggest complaint with the condo was the lack of windows. We had a small one bedroom one bath condo with a combination living room/kitchen/eating area. The only window in the condo was the slider in the combo room onto a tiny balcony. There was no window in the bedroom. We referred to the place as the Cave not the Cove. The building is designed so most of the rooms are on the sides of the building not the end. This restricts the views of the ocean. There is a common room for the guests with a huge sofa, big screen tv and internet access. The Cove provided coffee, juices and muffins for breakfast. There is no restaurant. Overall for our needs it was fine and the price was good. I doubt I would stay in the current building again. I would however check out the new building. It doesn't appear to be as "cave like" as the one we stayed in. Score 5 out of 5 The staff is very friendly and helpful. Arline, West Palm Beach, FL, 2005-11-13 Dinning is close, walking or a short drive distance. The Cove is located directly on the beach. A very scenic drive is along the coast. About 1 hour south of St. Augustine and Marineland. The Cove was very comfortable, the two-bedroom is larger than most, picture window over-looks the ocean, and two balconies with fantasic ocean views. The kitchen is fully equipped for 8. The pots and pans, the stove and refergerator were clean. The beach-front location is excellent. Very accessible to dining. The Cove has a large common area gathering room with a big-screen tv and free internet. There is also an exercise room and outdoor grilling areas along the beach. The beach is one of the best in Florida. The only potential drawback is the parking; however, there is a lot of construction going on. The Cove is building another complex that will be adjacent to this one. |
